Celebrating Adrian! I only got to work with you for 6months but man, absolute legend! Super talented, epic banter and an awesome teacher I was really stuck in my ways with Paintworx but you really taught me a lot and opened my eyes to change and growth and for that I am so grateful!! Can’t wait to support your next adventure 🙌

Picture 1- This picture was taken just after my first interview with apprenticeships Queensland in 2011 - I wanted to start my journey into the industry as a Carpenter, unfortunately I was placed with 3 different businesses that had 0 interest in me and more or less just wanted the “cheap” labour without actually wanted to put the effort or time into actually teaching me anything! I will always see this period of my life as an experience as it definitely was, it opened my eyes to what I could expect the industry to be and I grew from here!

Picture 2- Moments after I opened my letter of completion, I had become a qualified Cabinet Maker in 2015. I honestly don’t know who or where I would be without being given this opportunity from Markus and Dan at Know How Cabinetmaking, they let me into their business at just 15 for work experience then allowed me to come back and offered me the apprenticeship in 2011. I literally grew up in this shed, had all my major birthdays so far 18,21,30 - became a mum to then letting me into their homes and in turn I have gained two families whom I will always love and respect! They also supported me with starting my business Paintworx and continue to support me at my new role in Emu Coatings ❤️

Woman In Construction Week!

I’m never really one to get onboard with this but I figured why not!

My “journey” began so s**t as most do, 15 years ago the industry was rough to put it politely I was treated like dirt, never taken seriously and the one comment that has always stuck was “trying to teach you is worse then teaching a child” from a grown ass male who was shorter then me 🤣 I look back now an laugh and think f**k I’ve grown so much since then and the Brittany now really would have told him to get f**ked because well everyone that knows me now knows I’m pretty honest and can definitely hold my own!

I’ve grown from this kid that had next to no idea to literally growing with the industry into a strong independent woman who holds her own, has the respect of her whole industry and has made a name for herself in so many positive ways!

Shout out to the men in my life that I’ve worked with/for or my customers that have always had my back, supported me at my lowest lows and my highest highs! You have all helped me grow into the person I am today & it’s an awesome feeling to know I have a strong support crew always willing to have my back! ❤️🙏
