MATERNITY LEAVE CONTRACT - ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

- Between 22 & 38 hours per week – Monday to Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm)
- Varied Role - Administration and Logistics/ Scheduling
- Immediate Start
- Contract Completion -November 2022 (with the prospect of an extension full time continuation)
- Pay Rate - $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Parsons Industries is a family owned and operated air conditioning & electrical company servicing the greater Brisbane region. We have built strong relationships with customers and suppliers over the past 30+ years which we continue to strengthen and grow.
Our clients and facilities we manager include commercial and residential builders, small shopping centers & restaurants, schools and aged care facilities, real estate agents and investment properties as well as residential properties.
About the Role
We currently have an opening for Maternity Leave Cover for our Administration Officer in our Head Office, located in Wynnum. The role will commence immediately to enable adequate training alongside the lady currently in the role, and will continue through to November 2022. There may also be the opportunity for an extension of this role into a full time position for the right candidate.
This role will work closely with the Directors and Management team in delivering professional, efficient administrative assistance to all involved.
Duties of this role may include (but not be limited to):
- Directing all incoming phone calls, emails and face to face customers.
- Job bookings and calendar management.
- Invoicing for daily service & installation jobs (transferring technician notes onto customer invoice and sending out).
- Serving as a key communicator between clients and field staff.
- Small amount of stock ordering / management (primarily ensuring equipment is ready for the next day).
- Building and maintaining rapport with clients
- Posting Mail, sending emails, updating spreadsheets, ordering stationery, printing forms for staff, answering phones, filing, updating calendars and basic housekeeping duties.
- Ensuring the office and warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times
This role will include a 3 month probation and ongoing performance management.
Qualifications and skills
To be successful in this role applicants will require:
- Experience in office adminstration essential
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong time management (helping to run a small team of technicians)
- Experience in XERO (Highly Advantageous)

- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Excellent ability to adapt to the demands of a varied role
- Maturity to work autonomously and stay task focused
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Previous experience in providing administrative assistance in a busy workforce
- Ability to prioritize work effectively, no two days are the same with Parsons Industries so you would need to be able to adjust accordingly to the business' demand

Hourly Rate will be determined with reference to the relevant modern award and in consideration of your skills and experience, the hourly pay rate will range be between $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (as per the Clerks - Private Sector Award).
