RIP Speckles 25/4/2014-18/7/2024 - last of my original chicken flock - she made it to 10 years 2 months with us - but most likely was about 10.5 years old (approx 100 in human years equivalent). She certainly was a trooper and had a nice life, never expected her to outlive all the others 😍

Baby enjoying the last of the days warmth… Mumma hanging on the other side of the garden. Blue Tongues are viviparous, meaning they give birth to live young instead of laying eggs to hatch which is a little unusual in the lizard world. Another reason not to use any pesticides in your garden as these guys have a diet of slugs, snails, insects, worms, berries and other green foliage plants. They particularly like our strawberries πŸ“

Our first fruit from the Peanut Tree - Sterculia Quadrifida - much more like a peanut than imagined but definitely one to peel, pretty tasty for a Bush Tucker. The orange colour is so vibrant 😍
