Dearest Greener House Customers,
We have some news - in early June, we will be closing our business. Our last day of trading will be June 5th.
Many of you are already aware of this, and the emotional support you have shown us over the last couple weeks has been incredible. We are working on replying to all your emails!!

Thank you for supporting our business, for the fun chats, for witnessing our growth, and - most importantly - for allowing Greener House to be a safe space for everyone.

We know that many of you see Greener House as a place to go when things get bad, to just wander around and hang out with the plants and maybe have a quiet chat with one of us. It is impossible to express how much this has meant to us over the years. We have always valued you and your experiences, we have always felt honoured to be in your lives.
In many ways, the retail aspect of Greener House has always been secondary, and our first concern has been the happiness and wellbeing of the community. We want to thank you for allowing us to serve you all in that way.

We’re still here, operating as normal, for all of May and into early June. See you soon 🥰

Ficus elastica "Tineke" is a stunningly variegated cousin to the famous Burgundy cultivar. These are an awesome addition to any well-lit space, and can even go outside in a sheltered position!
"Inside, it’s best to let the soil really dry out in between watering. They also need great drainage in their pot, and a well-draining potting soil. In Melbourne, giving them a really good soak every 2-3 weeks in the warmer months and every 4-6 weeks in the colder months is a good place to start." - Our Ficus elastica care guide, available on our website.

Purple oxalis! ☂️Such a fun little plant, and super easy to take care of inside. They need a bright spot, somewhere with morning light is great as they won't burn. Let the soil dry out completely between watering, and don't be discouraged if they lose leaves during Winter, they should come roaring back in Spring!

Boston Ferns! These make a big impact in a space, but often get classed as too fussy - but they're just misunderstood.
"I killed so many Boston ferns, until one day I decided to just do the complete opposite of what everyone had been telling me. I moved my fern into the brightest spot I had, stopped misting it, and just watered it enough to keep it moist. Zanzibar Gems! These are awesome low light plants that require super minimal water. They're often referred to as "indestructible", but we've seen some pretty destroyed ones in our time - all it takes is overwatering! We let these really, really dry out between watering, waiting until the leaves go dull instead of glossy, and the soil has been absolutely bone dry for a quite some time.
