Although he is now a builder, Tom did his apprenticeship as a bricklayer in Sydney working on projects in historical areas such as The Rocks. I have to admit, before I met him, a brick was a brick. Who knew!! After having different patterns pointed to and described for 17 years I've learned to notice the differences. If your renovation includes brickwork and you want to "speak the lanuage" with your builder, this is a good summary.

I have always been an advocate for passive design features which can improve our living environment. This really is a no brainer and extends to dark colours on all surfaces. They're great if you live in cold climates and want to capture and retain heat but if you are in a warmer climate, there are much better choices.

Hello! It's been a long time between posts! The building side of the business has kept us busy this year. As most of you know, a shortage of both trades and supplies has made everything a bit tricky and my focus had to shift to those issues. There's so much affecting the industry and so much to discuss, but it will have to wait. Because today, I did the fun stuff and created this dreamy bedroom for . //Truth//I crawled into Christmas 2020 on the twirling entwines of energy fumes. If it wasn't for my amazing neighbor, we would have had Hello Fresh for Christmas lunch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tonight, at the strike of about 8pm (because there's no way I'm staying up until 12am), I raise my glass to everyone that helped us, helped their friends and family, helped their neighbors and helped strangers, get through this year. Thank you. It's understandable that people felt alone this year, but it's our sense of community that helps us survive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here's to 2021. May there be a continued sense of community spirit, many random acts of kindness, great adventures, friends, happiness, and possibly a shared glass of wine or 2!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
