Catching up on this a bit late, but we’re still buzzing from the 2024 Housing Excellence Awards back in August! 🎉✨ The One Design and Construct team had an incredible night, dressing up and celebrating as finalists in two categories. 🏆 We’re so proud of our team’s hard work and the recognition we received, even if it’s a couple of months later! 😅

We’re stoked to announce that 1DC has taken out the Master Builders Association Award in the Under $200K Alterations and Additions category for our Bicton project!

This renovation was a real passion project, and we’re proud to be recognised for our commitment to quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and delivering top results within budget.

Get ready to make the football fields purple! The weekend is back on the weekend of the 29th & 30th of July and we're calling on all football clubs and communities to join us in the fight against pancreatic cancer. It's time to rally together, have fun, and raise some serious funds for pancreatic cancer research.

Last year, Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club (BLJFC) raised almost $11,000 for the cause, and this year we're aiming even higher. The wonderful Emma Bodin is leading the charge once again. We're thrilled to have One Design and Construct and many other businesses already pledging their support.

By participating in the weekend, you'll not only be supporting a great cause, but you'll also have some fun. Think purple socks, face paint, balloons, and all sorts of fun. Let's make this the biggest, brightest, and most purple weekend yet!

So grab your friends, family, and teammates, and let's make the football fields purple. We can't wait to see you there!

It's been a challenging year in the construction industry, but we're proud to share some exciting news. Despite the tough economy and uncertain predictions, One Design and Construct has once again come out on top at the 2023 Master Builders Housing Excellence Awards!

Last year, we were honoured to receive an award, and this year, we've done it again! We've won the award for Best Alterations & Additions in the $300,000 - $430,000 category. This recognition is a testament to our team's hard work and determination in bringing our clients' housing dreams to life.

The winning project was a stunning renovation we did for Julian & Nicole in Amherst Street, Fremantle. We worked closely with them to transform a tired 1950's 2x1 brick and tile house with a small kitchen into a modern home with an expansive open plan living space, a spacious new kitchen, additional bathrooms, bedrooms, and a back patio. They were thrilled with the modern architectural features and our attention to detail, especially the exposed rafters on the ceilings.

We're incredibly grateful to them for entrusting us with their vision, and we're thrilled that they’re extremely happy with the end result. It's an honour to be recognised by the expert judges at the Master Builders Awards, and we're overjoyed to share this victory with our entire team at OneDC.

We want to express our gratitude to our clients, partners, and supporters who have been with us on this journey. Your trust and support have been invaluable, and we couldn't have achieved this success without you. Here's to many more exciting projects and awards in the future!

Hi, guess what everyone? OneDC is turning the big 10! 🎉 It's been a wild ride, but thanks to our amazing team and clients, we've accomplished so much over the past decade. We've built some incredible projects and made some lifelong friends along the way. Shoutout to our main chippy and troubleshooter Ash, our contracts whiz Adam, our rockstar apprentice Aidan, and our newest addition Marcel. Oh, and can't forget Lou, who keeps us sane during tax season! 🤪

We also want to give a huge thanks to our supporters, including Alan Thomas and Pam Keys. We are so grateful! And of course, we couldn't have won our Master Builders Housing Excellence Awards without our amazing clients, including Pete and Jill (and Jill's super cake-baking skills!). 🍰

We're thrilled to have been a part of the Western Australian community for the past decade and can't wait to keep making dreams come true for our clients in the years to come. Here's to another decade of building and creating! 🏗️💪

Footy and 1DC Helping Cancer Research: round for Pancreatic Cancer

Last year, Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club (BLJFC) supported Pankind’s cause and raised nearly $11,000 in the process! 1DC’s very own Emma Bodin was the driving force behind that very successful weekend and she aims to do it again in 2023, only bigger, better, and with a bunch more sponsors on board. Just like last year, One Design and Construct is front and centre for sponsorship, but for 2023 a lot more businesses are jumping on board to join the fight against pancreatic cancer on the weekend of 29/30 July 2023, to help with fundraising and for more research dollars to help all Australians, not only now, but in the future.

The inaugural weekend was only the beginning. This year Emma and the BLJFC are not only hoping to raise more funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research, but also spread the word to other clubs too.

What a year! COVID, lockdowns, isolation, sickness, and some of us have even suffered the ultimate loss of a loved one. Here at 1DC, our hearts go out to you all. Others have struggled financially as some areas of our economy faltered.

We’ve even had to worry about whether we had enough dunny roll for God’s sake! All our ships have been through some very rough weather, yet here we are, battered but not beaten.

Once again, we’ve seen our wonderful community here in Western Australia rally to weather the storm. As always, 1DC has been a proud contributor to many community initiatives, including oodles of junior sport with the amazing girls’ year 7/8 & 9/10 AFL teams at our beloved Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club, and of course, the fabulous Play in Purple initiative to help Pancreatic Cancer research.

Of course, we’d like to say a massive thank you to our amazing team, our incredible community, and all of our clients who have worked with us to turn their dreams into reality. From John, Emma, Lou, Ash, Adam, Aidan & Marcel, would like to say Merry Christmas, everyone!

The weekend was a huge success! 🙌🎉

As we mentioned last time, 1DC’s Emma Bodin organised a weekend at the Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club (BLJFC) to support Pankind’s wonderful round, which helps to raise both funds for, and public awareness of, pancreatic cancer.

BLJFC’s support of has been nothing but phenomenal right from the get-go

Emma’s on the committee of the BLJFC and ever since she first brought up the idea of supporting Pankind’s round, the club’s response has been nothing but phenomenal right from the start.

Even though there was a ton of last-minute organisation to be done, the BLJFC round ended up being a huge success, with hundreds of happy punters both on and off the field, and a whopping $10,775 raised for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Emma promised herself that she would make a difference and she’s doing just that!

Such a great day was bittersweet for Emma. It comes as a poignant reminder that pancreatic cancer does not discriminate. The disease stole from her, her vivacious and beautiful mum only two and half years ago. Once Emma could see beyond her grief, she promised herself that she would help make a difference in the fight against this insidious disease, and she is doing just that! Perth Suburban Newspapers have also jumped in to help raise awareness by featuring a “Purple in Power” article about Emma and in the Herald.

Last month, we talked about the Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club (BLJFC) making history at Beasley Park with the first-ever Girls’ Footy Teams. The Club is doing it again by leading the way in WA as the first WA AFL club to join the nationwide for Pancreatic Cancer research. 1DC is of course thrilled to do their bit by sponsoring with BLJFC.

On the weekend of 30/31 July, players will wear purple socks to support the great cause. With 1DC’s Emma Bodin organising the weekend at the BLJFC club, it’s sure to be a huge success. Over 95% of kids at the footy club have already purchased purple socks and will be wearing them on the field for the weekend – that’s nearly 500 kids! Emma’s hoping to build on this year’s purple sock weekend so becomes a yearly event at BLJFC and grows bigger every year.

PlayinPurple is a nationwide initiative of PanKind, The Australian Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, which is exclusively dedicated to pancreatic cancer. Let’s go BLJFC! and really get behind a fantastic cause that brings community, teams and families together to help our dedicated researchers prevent pancreatic cancer.
