Our industry is a big consumer of polypropylene products - used in pots, labels and trays.

Plantrite is proud to be partner with Garden City Plastics, which manufacture our green pots out of recycled polypropylene materials such as post-consumer and post-industrial waste.
All our green pots are able to be recycled again at the end of their life.

Spring has sprung on National Wattle Day!

Did you know the Governor General proclaimed Australia’s national colours, green and gold on this day in 1984 in honour of the Golden Wattle plant?

Wattle, scientifically known as Acacia pycnanthai, is our national floral emblem.

With over 42 different varieties of Acacia grown at Plantrite, this plant continues to be a popular choice for major projects and customers looking for a hardy but elegant native.

Flowering late winter to early spring, these plants are traditionally used by Aboriginal people for food, medicine and various woodcrafts.

Spot any in your local area – send in a photo and we’ll ID it for you!

PLANT IN FOCUS 🌱 Agonis flexuosa 'Lemon & Lime' PBR is available in a range of sizes including advanced stock of 30L!

The weeping habit of Lemon & Lime makes it ideal for use as a street tree, in parks and commercial landscapes. It grows in all soil and thrives in full sun or part shade, growing to 5m high and 4m wide. This plant is fantastic for adding colour contrast to landscapes with its contrasting new growth and stands out in spring and summer when it produces trailing clusters of small white flowers.

Carbon farming and offsetting emissions… While planting trees programs are important, it is biodiversity that will make the real difference.

The number of planting programs are increasing which is a good start but for these programs to succeed, rich numbers of different and locally suitable species need to be included.

We have the ideal opportunity to plant and revegetate in the fastest and smartest way possible, to support industries and Government who are striving to address the carbon situation.

On Friday we had the opportunity to visit Woodlupine Primary School to help with the planting of their Grown for Purpose plants! It was amazing how enthusiastic the students were to get involved, and great to see how much they care about and respect the environment. We were also thrilled to learn about the schools seed bank program, collecting the seed from threatened plant species and teaching the students about sustainability! 🌱🌱
