Did you know it's a common misconception that the Citronella plant itself does not repel mosquito's?

But it's the oil itself when applied to the skin or vapourised into the air that makes it harder for them to locate your scent.

The oil extracted is usually from the Citronella grass and not the citrus scented Geranium (Pelargonium).

I've purposely avoided using big botanical names due to possible information overload.

I've only added the name in brackets as the true plant's name due to Geraniums and Pelargoniums being commonly lumped together incorrectly and I'm a stickler for accuracy.

With great regret and sadness, I wish to inform the closure of Ray's Sunshine Plants due to health concerns.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, when the business took off it was amazing the amount of support I had.

Maybe I can still make some Plants as a hobby style, I was also thinking of turning this group into a collective swap/share for cuttings and seeds.

I plan to post all the Newspaper stories and make my gardening knowledge free as I had originally intended. I'll be posting the unedited versions before the Editor tweaked them just in case there are any legal ramifications for using the Newspapers words and format.

I think my writing style is usually easy to follow along with anyway without it being professionally edited.

I'd love your thoughts on where we can take this group of green thumbs, I'm thinking a name change too.

Widebay Sunshine Plants, Bundaberg Gardening Group etc etc.

Any suggestions please let me know ❤️

I'm trying to find info on their Perfect Plant Promise, to my understanding, the costs of any returns are put back on the supplier and it isn't absorbed by the huge corporation's power as one would think.

If anyone has any info on this policy please let me know.

Either way, I believe this petition will create a fairer industry for suppliers and shoppers alike, please sign and share.

Well hello there, sorry it's been a while, the Sinnamon family just needed a while to collect themselves after the loss of Lupin.

The road has not continued to be easy, this one has recently come back to good health after another "rare" condition which cost us another 7k and a few more grey hairs.

Still so thankful we have her, she was running around outside playing and having so much fun she didn't want to stop 🥰❤️

The financial burden from this continued barrage and my own health issues has made it seem like a forever Winter for Ray's Sunshine Plants.

But us Gardeners know that to plant a seed is to hope and I see a beautiful Spring around the corner 🥰❤️

Rescue agencies do such wonderful work, If Lupins story can help raise funds for such a worthy cause then it soothes my heart that his legacy lives on through other animals saved ❤️

Last night Lupin gained his wings 🕊️👼

Lupin only spent a short 9 days in our care at Happy Tails. 3 of those days were spent fighting for his life receiving ICU care in hospital.

Lupin fought a very hard battle with the help of his amazing foster carers who poured so much love into him as well as his veterinary team who tried so many different treatments.

A massive thank you to every single person who supported Lupin through the last few days with money donations and well wishes.
