The People's Choice Award gives members of the public the chance to select their favourite landscape architecture project from the 2025 AILA WA Landscape Architecture Awards.

Vote for the projects that inspire you, and you’ll go in the draw to win a prize pack from .

Voting closes at 5pm (AWST) on Friday 23 May 2025 and is open via Instagram and Facebook – 1 like = 1 vote.

The People's Choice winner will be announced at the AILA WA Awards Night on 30 May 2025, and the prize winner will be drawn and notified on Monday 26 May 2025.

LA3 has prepared the Self Guided Bird Watching Strategy for Mount Isa City Council in consultation with the local and keen birdwatching community. The task for LA3 was to develop a self-guided drive, design sufficient birdhides, interpretive signage and walking trails for visitors and bird watchers. This will support eco-tourism initiatives and enhance the type of tourism on offer in Mount Isa. The project aims to capitalise on existing sites, which currently may be well visited by locals, however, lack sufficient signage to enable access and visitation for tourists.

We are proud to announce the completion of the War Memorial at Paraburdoo, a tribute to Western Australia’s contributions to various wars. Established in the early 1970s, Paraburdoo has a deep connection to the ADF, with many residents and visitors having ties to servicemen and women.

The memorial features:

Commemorative Screens: Curved weathered steel panels with laser-cut poppies, representing each Western Australian who served. These screens are designed to illuminate during sunrise on commemoration days.

Memorial Plaza: A half-circle plaza with the Australian Defence Force Rising Sun badge pattern and flagpoles, providing space for ceremonies and gatherings.

Equine Sculptures: Steel silhouettes honouring the 10 million horses, donkeys, and mules that perished in the World Wars, with each sculpture representing 2 million animals.

Memorial Grove: A plantation of slender white barked gum trees, each tree symbolising 3 million ADF and civilian casualties, creating a striking and solemn grove.

Constructed with weathered steel and coloured concrete, the memorial aligns with local materials and design, echoing the resilience and history of Paraburdoo.

Eisteddfod night our with the family! The new CPAC landscape designed by LA3, completed in 2018, replaced the old Civic Theatre with two theatres attracting larger performances to Cairns. CPAC hosted the JCU Cairns Eisteddfod, celebrating young talent.

Legacy Projects - Butler Street, TULLY, QLD. In 1995, almost 30-years ago, as a young graduate at Siteplan Cairns Landscape Architects Joseph Corbin, our Managing Director prepared the documentation for the Main Street of Tully for the Cardwell Shire Council. Now part of the Cassowary Coast Regional Council, this project has stood the test of time and stillstands today with CSC brass plate and walls from the era. In those days, taking asphalt out for gardens was revolutionary!

The Bargara Foreshore Masterplan is a design collaboration between LA3 and the Bundaberg Shire Council to revitalize the northern end of Nielson Park into a dynamic recreational destination. Improvements include an upgraded Bundaberg SLSC forecourt with new informal seating areas, an all-abilities access ramp, bar stool seating, a laydown area and an outdoor dining space with feature Pandanus trees. The upgrade also introduces wave-like feature wall at the park entrance, and upgrades to the events lawn, volleyball court, and skating rink. Beach-themed furniture, shower forecourts, a dedicated beach themed play space, and a hierarchised footpath enhance the overall park space. This upgrade is set to elevate the recreational and social potential of the park, creating a sense of community, inclusivity, safety and enjoyment for all.

LA3's Tropical Urbanism solutions at Cairns Convention Centre include mezzanine planters that contain vines to climb the facade and a skygarden terrace. Our ground level yarning circle is complete with stage and natural rock perimeter with Licualas and a range of native tropical plants.
