It’s time for a backyard blitz, whether you’re tidying up your yard or helping a neighbour clean theirs, this is the perfect time to pitch in and help keep our neighbourhoods looking great.

While you’re dropping off your clippings, consider making a gold coin donation to support FNQ Wildlife Rescue, the local volunteer group that’s been rescuing and rehabilitating sick and injured native animals across our region since 1994.

From Saturday 16 August to Sunday 24 August, Council is offering free green waste disposal to residents at the city’s transfer stations.

This is very close to our heart as many of these saved wallabies were nursed back to health at our very own office. These volunteers do an amazing job and deserve this security for the little ones they save. It's a no brainer to donate .... even the smallest amount.
