What an epic day yesterday at the Townsville Medieval & Fantasy Festival! So much to see and do across the day - from dancing and singing, to fencing and duelling - plus jousting which was a first for me to see!

A huge thank you to the organisers and all the volunteers who made yesterday happen. It takes a lot of planning, a lot of time and effort to pull off such a huge event - so a big thank you to everyone who contributed to a great day.

And a big thank you to all of the revellers who supported small businesses by stopping at our stalls, making a purchase or just sharing a smile or compliment - you guys made the event the experience that it was.

Time to leave behind the fantasy realm and return to normal routines and work… but keep the magic and wonder with you 🧚‍♀️🐉✨🦄

I’m so excited to be going to this! My costume is nearly ready - just shoes and some finishing touches…

WWYD? Comfortable shoes that don’t really work with the costume but will get me through the day, or suffer for the sake of awesomeness and having epic costume shoes??

Have I mentioned that I’m also going to be at Bushy Creek Makers’ Fair in September?

Today a small but mighty band of creative volunteers gathered together to make some cute - and surprisingly simple! - sconces for the event. It was a lot of fun and worth the drive! Yes that’s me in the first photo showing off one of my creations.

It’s shaping up to be a really fun event, so make sure to follow their page for more info as details are shared. There will be more volunteer creative sessions too if you’d like to join in!

✨ The Wizomes have been whispering their ancient magic ✨

I put the word out with the Chief Wizome that we needed a group photo. Wizomes, I have learned, are mostly good natured but very mischievous. Do you think I could get a photo with them all sitting properly, coats smoothed down, beards combed and no bunny ears? 🐰

I finally got a good photo of the group, and I asked the Chief Wizome what the collective noun is. Do they like ‘donsy’ which is the term for a group of gnomes? Maybe a council, coven or order leaning into their wizardness?

He just chuckled and told me I had to guess. Can you help me?

Kiddo thinks maybe a School of Wizomes.
