Reid House 🏠

The new house accommodates a lot of things: ageing-in-place, extended family living, art, workshop, storage, a lift, a self-contained flat. Yet all remains minimised and disguised from the street.

Mature trees are retained and celebrated. Living areas and the main bedroom are located at the upper level to celebrate views, sun, and a connection to both front and back gardens.

A thermally broken exposed concrete slab dances around the perimeter of the upper level.

Maple Tree House 🏠

Alterations to the front of the existing house introduce a new balcony and balustrade. Connecting to the existing stone entry stair, and flowing off the existing living space, the new space captures north sun and balcony views, while not detracting from the original aesthetic of the house.
