This year’s theme for NAIDOC week is ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’, celebrating the achievements of the past, but also the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors.

NAIDOC Week is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and achievements. It takes place annually in July and is a time for all Australians to learn about and appreciate the rich heritage of First Nations peoples.

Check out the winners of this year’s NAIDOC winners here:

And, as always, use the First Nations Resources Hub with link in bio.

She Shapes History Walking Tour
When: Saturday, 24th May
Time: 2-4pm
Where: Canberra Museum and Gallery
Address: 176 London Cct, Canberra City
Tickets: Link in bio!

From the very beginning, women have been shaping Canberra.

On this walking tour, we’ll uncover the hidden history of women in architecture, design, and the built environment. From the early layout of the city to the stories held within some of its most iconic buildings, we’ll explore how women helped shape Canberra’s physical and cultural landscape.

You’ll hear about million-dollar artworks that vanished overnight, feminist protests that took over the streets, and the women who opened Canberra’s first female-run businesses. We’ll walk through the city’s past and discover how designers, planners, artists, and rule-breakers all helped shape the capital we know today—even if history forgot to include them in the credits.

Canberra is full of secrets. But the contributions of women shouldn’t be among them.
