Top 5 Corner windows

No5 Double plaster corners.  The windows don't meet at the corner so there are multiple internal and external corner beads.

No4 Single plaster corner.  The windows meet at exactly the right spot to set up the single plaster corner bead and tearaway beads against the window frames.

No3 Timber corner.  Timber trims are used to hide the structural element in the corner.

No2 Coupled corner.  The roof structure is cantilevered, allowing a non-structural post in the corner.  It is not visible from the inside.

No1 Silicone butt joint.  This is a non-structural corner where the triple glazed units are held together only with silicone.

Australian passive houses need shading as much as any other type of house.

Here is a cost effective method to shade a large outdoor area with lots of north facing glass.

This ornamental grape vine ( ) is fast growing and easy to maintain, putting on 6m of growth in its first season. Now in autumn it will turn deep red before dropping its leaves just in time to let the winter sun in to heat the house.

The robots aren't replacing humans just yet.  This one is holding up a 430kg triple glazed window while the carpenters attach timber reveals.  

You would need 8 strong people to lift this window and raising it 1m off the ground to fit into the opening is a recipe for disaster.   An easy job for the MPK06.

High performance AND heritage looking windows. In the leafy suburb of Reid in Canberra, we replaced these original double hung single glazed wooden windows with double glazed tilt and turns.

From the outside it is difficult to pick. Even the aluminium flyscreen is discreet. The horns were custom made to match.
