Update

Our town has seen some major flooding this week, thank you to everyone who has checked on our welfare. We’ve been very fortunate that our place hasn’t been inundated, but sadly many others in the community have .😞
Builder will need to delay lining the second bay of my workshop this week as he understandably is needed else where.

In the meantime, I’m back on the tools today, working on an Easter crate before the bunny hops into town. Hopefully this one turns out egg-stra special! 🐰

✨ A New Chapter ✨

After many wonderful years as Chalk It Up Goondiwindi, life has taken me to a new town and into a new season.

While I’ve left Goondiwindi, I haven’t left behind my love of creating beautiful, handcrafted pieces. In fact… it’s grown.

So instead of starting again, I’m simply turning the page.

I’m so excited to introduce the new name for this space:

Still the same heart.
Still created with love.

Just a fresh chapter, new inspiration, and a new place to grow.

🌿 A Little Life Update 🌿

Hello friends, it’s been a long time since I last shared anything here. Life has been full (and sometimes overflowing!) this past year, and I thought I’d let you know what’s been happening behind the scenes.

At the end of December 2024, my beautiful Mum’s world was turned upside down after a taxi accident where she wasn’t secured properly in her wheelchair. Sadly, she sustained injuries that meant she lost much of the independence she had left, and she is now living in an aged care facility. Since then, life has been a whirlwind of paperwork, appointments, 5-hour round trips to Toowoomba, selling their unit, and supporting her through the tough emotional days.

Dad has also kept me on my toes — he seems determined to prove he has more lives than a cat! 🐾 He’s had a few health battles, the most recent being a chest infection he is battling as I write this.

Amidst it all, I’m still working full time and grabbing every precious moment I can as a grandma in Melbourne (those little cuddles make everything worthwhile 💕).

I do miss my creative outlet so much, but right now life is just asking for my energy elsewhere. I’m hopeful that 2026 will bring a little more calm, space, and time for creating again.

A big thank you to the Goondiwindi Christmas Market for hosting such a wonderful event! The day was filled with laughter, Christmas cheer, and plenty of creative crafting.

A special mention to the cadets 147 ACU Goondiwindi for the outstanding job they did helping with both the setup and pack-up—you’re amazing!

Thank you to all the parents who brought their children along to Santa’s Magic Key workshop—it was heartwarming to see so many happy faces enjoying the festivities.

Finally, a huge shoutout to Susan Mckenzie for all your help—you’re a superstar! ⭐️

🎄A Festive Family Christmas Workshop!

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a private workshop for a family’s Christmas gathering, and what a magical day it was!

Together, they crafted beautiful wooden Christmas trees, each adorned with a spectacular star taper hanging elegantly from the center. The finishing touch, twinkling fairy lights that brought each creation to life and adding a warm glow to their masterpieces.

It was truly heartwarming to see everyone come together, laughing, creating, and making unforgettable memories. Thank you for letting me be part of your family celebration! ✨
