A simple tile selection can have a big impact on the feel of a bathroom.

This spacious bathroom combines clean white ceramic wall tiles with a subtle marble-look feature wall, creating a timeless design that feels bright, open, and inviting.

The feature wall uses the same marble-look tile as the floor, but in a larger 600x300 format. By carrying the pattern vertically up the shower wall, it creates a focal point without overwhelming the room. The floor is finished in matching 300x300 tiles, tying everything together and allowing the marble pattern to flow throughout the space.

The remaining walls are tiled in plain white 600x300 ceramic tiles, keeping the room light and allowing the feature wall to stand out.

With a generous full-length shower, large-format wall tiles, and a carefully integrated niche, this bathroom balances practicality with a clean, modern aesthetic. The tiled window sill continues the finish seamlessly and helps create a polished look throughout the room.

Some tiles test your patience. Mosaic tiles demand it.

At first glance, this niche might look simple, but achieving a clean finish with hexagon mosaics requires careful planning, precision cutting, and plenty of attention to detail.

Unlike large format tiles, every individual piece needs to work together. Add a recessed niche into the mix, and suddenly every angle, edge, and alignment becomes important. The pattern needs to flow naturally into the niche while maintaining consistent grout lines and clean transitions around the trim.

It's the kind of work that can't be rushed. Taking the time to carefully shape and position each piece is what transforms a good result into a great one.

The reward is a feature that feels intentional and seamless, with the hexagonal pattern wrapping into the niche and creating depth, texture, and visual interest within the shower space.

The best tiling often goes unnoticed.

At first glance, this kitchen feels clean, open, and effortless. But it's the small details that make the difference.

The island bench has been finished with a white marble-look porcelain tile, wrapping the front face and continuing around the L-shaped table-height seating area. By carrying the same tile above and below the bench, the design flows seamlessly, creating a light and cohesive look throughout the kitchen.

What really sets this project apart is the precision involved in the installation. Every tile was carefully measured and cut around the supporting brackets beneath the bench seating. It's one of those details that can easily be overlooked, but when done correctly, it creates a finish that looks clean, intentional, and almost effortless.

This is where experience matters. Precision cuts, tight lines, and careful planning ensure the focus remains on the beauty of the finished space rather than the complexity behind achieving it.

The end result is a kitchen that feels bright, spacious, and refined, with the marble-look porcelain adding a touch of luxury while maintaining the durability and practicality that porcelain tiles are known for.

When Light Becomes Part of the Design 💡

Sometimes the most striking features in a space aren't the boldest ones.

This kitchen splashback features hand-sculpted look tiles in a soft off-white tone, laid horizontally to create a subtle sense of movement across the wall. Paired with a matching off-white grout, the joins quietly disappear, allowing the texture itself to become the star of the show.

During the day, it provides a clean and timeless backdrop to the kitchen. But when the under-cabinet LED lighting comes on, the splashback takes on a whole new personality. Light and shadow dance across the surface, highlighting every ripple and contour, bringing depth and character to what could otherwise be a simple white wall.

It's a great example of how thoughtful material selections can add interest without overwhelming a space. Understated, elegant, and full of detail waiting to be discovered.

Creating a Stunning Feature Wall with Textured Marble-Look Tiles

Not every tiled wall is designed to blend into the background.

This feature wall was created to be a focal point within our showroom — a surface that immediately catches your eye and draws you into the space.

The tile itself is something a little different. A white marble-look tile with a subtle rippled texture running across the face, creating movement and depth that changes throughout the day as the light shifts across it. From one angle, the wall appears sleek and understated. From another, the texture comes alive, creating shadows and highlights that almost resemble flowing water.

Paired with the pendant lighting above, the effect is even more dramatic. The light washes across the rippled surface, accentuating every contour and transforming what could have been a simple tiled wall into a statement piece.

It's a great example of how tiles can be much more than a practical surface. The right tile, combined with thoughtful lighting, can completely change the atmosphere of a room and become a feature in its own right.

This wall was one of the centrepieces of our old showroom, proving that sometimes the most memorable design elements aren't the biggest or the most expensive — they're the ones that make you stop, look twice, and appreciate the details.

Matching the main bathroom while still giving the ensuite its own identity.

Using the same warm grey-beige tiles throughout, this ensuite carries the same seamless and calming feel as the main bathroom. The large format tiles create a clean, open look, while the custom slimline camphor laurel vanity by Split Design adds warmth and natural texture to the space.

One of the key design features in this room is the nib wall the vanity is mounted to. Rather than taking the wall all the way to the ceiling, it was designed at half height with glass above it (still to be installed in this photo). This allows natural light from the shower window to continue flowing through the entire room.

The result is an ensuite that feels bright, open, and light-filled despite the separation of spaces.

When designing a bathroom or ensuite, it’s always important to think about where your natural light is coming from and how you can maximise it. Small design decisions like this can completely change the feel of a room.

Warm neutral tones and seamless design make this bathroom feel calm, open, and incredibly easy to live with.

Large 600×600 grey-beige tiles flow across both the floors and walls, wrapping the entire space in a soft warm texture that feels modern without being cold. Carrying the tiles right through to the ceiling helps create that clean, expansive wet-room feel.

The custom camphor laurel vanity and matching mirror cabinet by Split Design - Vanities, Cabinets, Furniture & Tiling bring natural warmth and character into the space. The timber grain stands out beautifully against the tiled finishes, creating a balance between luxury and practicality.

One of the smartest parts of the layout is the hidden shower positioned behind the vanity wall. It creates privacy while removing the need for large glass screens and the constant cleaning that comes with them. Instead, the room flows as one continuous tiled space.

The floor grate with inset tiles keeps the drainage subtle and minimal, while silver trims provide crisp clean edges throughout. Even the window sill has been fully tiled, completing the seamless wet-room design.

A lot of tiling went into this bathroom — but when the end result feels this clean, warm, and effortless, it’s well worth it.

Creating space in a narrow ensuite is all about smart design choices 🤓

For this project, the layout was kept open and minimal to maximise every bit of room. The toilet sits neatly at the back, the shower takes centre position to allow for a larger showering area, and a floating vanity bowl at the entrance keeps the space feeling open and uncluttered.

The flooring features 600x600 light grey porcelain tiles in a lappato finish — giving the perfect balance between grip and easy cleaning for wet areas. The walls were finished in clean white 600x300 tiles to keep the ensuite bright and timeless.

To bring in contrast and a bit of personality, we added a feature wall behind the toilet using a black timber-grain tile in a 600x300 format. A subtle feature, but one that completely changes the feel of the room.

The floor grate allows for a single-direction fall, which works perfectly with the large format tiles. Fewer cuts, fewer interruptions, and a much cleaner, more seamless finish overall.

Simple, functional, and designed to make the space feel bigger than it is.

A bathroom that balances function with a bit of luxury 🧖‍♀️

This space features a large freestanding bath paired with a 1200 shower screen, creating an open and practical layout that still feels high-end.

On the floor, we’ve used dark grey marbled porcelain tiles in a 600x600 format, bringing depth and contrast. The walls are finished with clean white 600x300 tiles to keep the space feeling light and fresh.

These porcelain tiles are a lappato finish — a nice middle ground that’s not too slippery, but not overly grippy either. Perfect for wet areas while still being easy to clean and maintain.
The niches in both the shower and above the bath add that extra level of practicality, keeping everything within reach. We’ve finished them with a feature mosaic tile at the back, giving a subtle pop of detail that really elevates the space.

Functional for everyday use — whether it’s shampoo, conditioner and soaps — or styled up with candles and décor for that relaxed, spa-like feel.
