Nice to see yellow buds open into purple blooms on these 2 Areocarpus. Quad bloom on the Loph hybrid will get some Areo pollun today just because! There's enough loph seedlings here, too. Should be available this spring/summer. 🌼🌸🌡

On the left: Azureocereus Hertlingianus sown (15 Aug 24.)

The middle: Same seed sow and then grafted to dragonfruit after 6 months.

On the right: The base of the middle scion (graft) and kept it alive with sulphur on the cut even though it was only 5mm across, and it pushed out 4 pupps a few weeks later.

Tephrocactus and Opuntia Shelf. These ones are up high because they arnt worth touching. The little fluff balls are in fact, up to 100s of spines, compressed into a ball that when touched, can be months of reactive pain. These are my collection plants and some are illegal to sell or trade but the ones that are allowed will be available for more experienced collectors as I wish I was more aware the first time I unwrapped one. I scrunched the paper towel up it was wrapped in having no idea there were thousands of micro, red spines through it. Tephrocactus Articulatus V. Major was the lesson giver.

This lot is out of reach for children and indoors as some are illegal to plant in the ground and can still spread if outside in pots. They can be harmful to wildlife too. Grow with care please and check your country and state laws.

Glorp update: Cut the branch Glorp was grafted to, moved scion to the hothouse for winter with stock buried in the soil/granite. this scion was the size of a golf ball in spring last year when grafted to Peruvian Apple Stock. It's the heaviest cactus I've carried of this size by a lot, too. Thoughts are now a Peruvian apple stock garden covered in grafts or maybe a walkway with a grand stand layout of stocks each side..... Or both! πŸ˜…πŸŒ΅πŸŒ΅πŸŒ΅πŸŒ΅πŸŒ΅

Thankyou! To who left these plants in pots at the gate yesterday. Came at a time of darkness and pulled me back. Pure magic!

Seems to have worked, well and fast! The core of Euphorbia Ammaks, is pushed into the ridges rather then be circular. Ammaks also shoot branches fast and by the many in full sun.

2 of the graft posts are in a recent post but the combo has from the top:
E. Ploygona "Snowflake"
E. Pseudoglobosa
E. Obesa Hybrid
E. Ferox
E. Polygona "Snowflake"
E. Pseudoglobosa
E. Abdelkuri Damask

May look funny but wont be a loss in production.
