It is an absolute delight and a great honour to hear that VCAT Oakleigh has been shortlisted under, not just one, but four categories for the Workspace Awards!

We look forward to hearing the announcement!

The new VCAT Venue in Oakleigh Melbourne delivers community justice in a decentralised location and provides a welcoming and non-adversarial environment to facilitate the resolution of a wide range of disputes and other issues by focusing on mediation and conciliation.

Announcing the Workspace Awards Shortlist for 2020!
Thank you to everyone that entered! We’re absolutely in awe of your work and what a tough job our judges had narrowing it down!

We have had to make the unfortunate decision to post pone the Virtual Awards due to COVID-19 until further notice. More details and new date will be announced across our website and socials, so keep an eye out for this!

The new Community Sports Pavilion for the City of Whittlesea and designed by Harmer Architecture was finished early this year just prior to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The pavilion located in Harvest Home Road Epping North just near the new Lyndarum Shopping Centre, is however a great new landmark on the fringe of the city.

When open for use, the HHR Pavilion will be used extensively by soccer and cricket clubs and a wide range of other community groups.

We were delighted to work with council and community organizations to get the project off the ground and congratulate the builders for a great job.

Harmer Architecture has been appointed by Court Services Victoria to undertake a fitout of an existing office building into a new VCAT facility in Oakleigh, Melbourne. The venue is due to be opened soon in February.

The venue is first of its kind in Victoria and is aim is to create the kind of spaces where people are made to feel welcome and less formal than a courthouse. We worked closely with VCAT and Court Services Victoria to create a human centred design, creating an environment that is centred around a positive visitor experience and an efficient and safe working environment for staff.

This is part of a strategic plan to establish several dedicated VCAT venues in metropolitan Melbourne and we are excited to be a part of this journey and hope the new venue will improve access to justice for the local community.

"Terracotta tiles have been a popular roofing choice in Australia since the 19th century, but here they are used to clad external walls. The terracotta roof tiles are laid like shingles with overlapping courses, and the tonal variation ties in with the bricks and timber of the facade."
