Safety retaining wall going up for a driveway 🚧
Building regulations require this one to be a minimum of 1.1 metres high, so it’s being built properly and built to last. Rebar has been drilled 800mm down into the existing foundations and chemically anchored in place for maximum strength.
Hollow blocks will then be fully filled with concrete to create a solid, reinforced structure 💪

Work started last week on this area, which will be used for a washing line and garden shed. Hard graft digging it out, but it’s good to turn wasted land into a proper, practical space. 💪

Great day today 💪 A full week of hard digging and the sleepers are now all in. Happy with how it’s shaping up — a few tweaks left, but the worst part is done. Pathway to sort next 👍

On the home straight now 💪 Hard work today digging and prepping.
Sleepers will be installed tomorrow, including a return on the end to really finish the wall off properly.

Today’s update on the retaining sleeper wall 💪
Had the scary job of moving the ducting so we’ve got more room for the sleepers and space for the slabs to go over and hide the cables.
Hard digging today, but we’re on the home straight now! 👷‍♂️🔥

“Today’s task was installing the sleepers so I can start backfilling with all the soil I’ve been digging out. The original sleepers that were put in a while ago were 10mm smaller, so they had to come down and be replaced so everything lines up and sits level on top. Hard day’s graft, but it’s finally starting to take shape now 💪🪵”

Another tough day digging holes for the upright supports on the retaining wall. Solid slate ground all the way, so the big guns are coming out tomorrow. Slow going, but it’s coming along nicely.

New job started today downderry 💪
Building a timber sleeper retaining wall to allow for improved access to the property.
All hand dug, as there isn’t enough room for machinery – proper hard graft, but the results will be worth it.

Another job completed today after two days of hard work – and one very happy client! 🙌
