Our purpose is to care for the land we stand on. ✊🏽

To make smarter choices, to do better, and care for Country.

To think about how our purchases have a knock on effect on the world around us. And do what we can to protect this land for future generations.

Somewhere along the way we got scared of colour. Our homes started to conform to “safe” “timeless” choices that offend no one (debatable) and could belong to anyone.

We get working with colour can be scary, so how’s our recommendations on the “safest” rooms to do the “risky” design you’ve always dreamed of 😏

1. Home office

2. Powder rooms

3. Libraries or Sitting rooms

Only when we have one store left to buy from will we realise we needed to support small businesses.

Eventually big chain corporations will be all that is left 🥲

They mass produce, rip off designs like .flanagan (check out video on this) and yes they may make things “affordable” but in doing so we splurge and buy more than we need.

When things are cheap and too accessible, we don’t appreciate them, and then when we’re sick of our homes looking like everyone else’s, we throw things out and start again.

We need to change this way of thinking before it’s too late.

👉🏼 support local businesses
👉🏼 support local manufacturing
👉🏼 support authentic design

Let’s not have the inside of our homes become as standardised and simplified as the outsides have become.

And as I posted recently what one of my clients said to me “if I don’t, who will?”

Things our clients have said that mean everything to us 🫶🏼

1. “Whatever you think” - we love clients who trust our expertise and know that any recommendation comes after a long process of elimination.

2. “If we don’t who will?” - this was said to us once when we asked if they wanted furniture selected with Australian manufacturing and sustainable practices in mind. We loved this response! Because yes sometimes this can mean the more expensive option but “if you don’t who will?”

3. “As long as Leah’s seen it” - trusting the process 🙌🏽 sometimes things will need to change during construction, it’s not ideal but it happens. We love when our clients trust us enough to make decisions with trades that we feel will offer the best outcome.

4. “We love it” ok this is often said about something that was a little bit out there, maybe they weren’t 100% sure of in the beginning or something there wouldn’t have thought of themselves. And THAT is why you hire a designer. To bring something into your home that you love that you (or AI 🙃) may not have thought of.

Trust the process 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 love your home again 🫶🏼

Interior design hills I will die on 🙃

Never, ever will I ever use Venetian blinds. Followed closely by never using vertical blinds. (If you’re a millennial did you sing this 😏)

They collect dust, they’re impossible to keep clean, they break easily and do we really even think they look good? I don’t 🙃

If you’re thinking about getting them in your home, watch this video instead 😂 and let us know if you’d like to discuss other options…

Designing your home, can get personal. But it’s the personal touch and attention to detail that makes the difference.

So for our clients we have

👉🏼 washed & steamed bedding (so beds are ready for sleeping)
👉🏼 helped select Christmas presents (because they need to go 😝)
👉🏼 bought toilet paper (yes, during COVID we bought one of our clients toilet paper as they were returning from overseas and their newly refurbished house currently didn’t have any 🙈)
👉🏼 we’ve fully fitted out kitchens right down to chopsticks. 🥢 (and removed all the stickers 🫠)

Because we get that it’s the little details that make you feel at home 🥰
