Merry Christmas everyone! I‘ll finally be finished studying in the new year, so I’m hoping to get back to doing a bit of what I love….I won’t be taking any commission work, I just want to do things that I feel engaged in and passionate about 💗

For many of my followers who may not know where my business name comes from 💗

I love breathing new life into furniture. I also love Anne of Green Gables, which is where “Ingleside” comes from....I felt the name was the right one in my bones and when I rediscovered this quote, well it couldn’t have been more fitting and says it all. ❤️

My daughter has recently begun her career as a tattoo artist….she wore me down and in the process of designing what I wanted, I think I’ve stumbled upon the business logo I’ve been waiting to come to me organically. There would be no Ingleside without Anne 💗

It’s amazing the difference a smear of glaze/stain makes to timber….the look of driftwood is achieved so quickly (if you don’t include all of the prep haha!)

This beauty is finally finished and ready for her new home….be it a coffee table, lamp table or whatever table, its classic lines will work in most settings.
Removing the thick, red lacquer paint revealed this stunning timber mosaic top, imagine covering it up!

This beautiful, old chest of drawers has so much depth of character, the paint brush was going nowhere near it. So old in fact, that there are a few square headed, hand made nails in the top. I haven’t staged her because she is staying with us, but you can see the stories she has inside of her just by looking at the indents, grooves and stains. All I’ve done is sanded her back gently and given her a nourishing couple of coats of wax for protection. The abnormally large holes previously created for the hardware made that process slightly more challenging, but I’m loving the end result.
Refurbishment and up cycling doesn’t always mean paint, sometimes it just means TLC and respect 💗
