Filipino Bulay or Bataw is Hyacinth Bean in English or Lablab Bean (Lablab purpureus), a popular edible vegetable often used in Filipino stews like pinakbet and vege stir fry.
These pods are white green or purple, shaped like snow peas.

This type of vegetable is available now The Deli Garden.

Another batch of chayote (also known as choko) and Bataw are available again from “The Deligarden due to the plant's high productivity. Thanks be to God for His provision.

Chokos (chayote) are in season and ready for harvest, offering free, pick-your-own for The Deligarden customers, WSCC basketball and WSCC family.

Favorable weather conditions here in NSW particularly in West Sydney , have improved expectations for a longer and more productive autumn crop harvest. (Chayote and bataw are promising).

For best results in this temperate climate, ensure your vine vegetables like choco(chayote), bataw are in a sunny spot and have adequate drainage as rainfall can increase during this season.

Long melon gave a good almost month harvest and chayote is coming.
