Hydro mulch fail: "When you 'install' a multi phased independent drought resistant garden solution but didn't understand what a mob of kangaroos could do to pioneer baby grass or how to manage it when you're away from site". This was supposed to be a little bird haven with native grasses, creepers and bushes. Lesson learnt.

We welcome 🦘🦘.

We have regular mothers and their joeys using space to rest/shelter. So, we are now designing for them. Plant some garden areas with what they don't eat and plant other areas with baby biz that they love but protect it until established and 🤞. For N Wall banks, I'm going to rehabilitate soil, plant low rider drought resistant biz and mulch like a m**o.

Foundation work 80% complete. Mulch down, Phase 2 plant placeholders done (organic w**d mat pins), paths in place, recycle old fence posts as borders and some kind of installation at some stage. Watering Lime Tuff now twice a week and regular use of vinegar and cinnamon around garden border to discourage 🐰🦘. With temps regularly hitting 40C, Phase 2 planting can wait. Focus on what we have.

Everything is a process.

Plant placeholders done.

Planting kit designed and tested.

Baby plants, super cute.

Test planting process and timing completed.

Kangamaroo & rabbit plant perimeter deterrent solution ready (old odd socks, tent pegs, vinegar and a mini sledgehammer...for the tent pegs😳).

Planting goal:
5 min per plant = 12 hours to plant this section.
7 days to complete planting before tube stock fizzes out.
Expect 10% loss but I really hope it is not that🤞

One week in and some punk is munging on baby thyme.

Temp solution because it was good to go : Citrus spray (1 x orange's peel + 24 hours in water).

Next stop: 5 to 10 drops of essential cinnamon oil in 4L of water. Apparently more effective than Citrus biz and hopefully it deters the Hill's Top 3 - roos, rabbits and our new friend Mr Snakes (yes it's plural).
