Well it’s our last day of trading and they say it takes a village and what a village we have 🙏

Our kids Max, Gus and Emma who responded to many urgent SOS messages of help when the shop was busy! Customers loved seeing the kids in the shop and I did too! Max's barista skills are legendary, Gus and Ems shop skills are amazing and the way they all treated everyone who walked through the door with friendliness and care made us so proud ###

Thanks to our mum/mother in law Trish for her passion, endless dedication, knowledge and hard work creating a garden that was loved by so many and for helping us get the nursery going in the first years. We are forever grateful x

Our wonderful baristas and shop assistants over the years, past and present for their hard work, support and customer service skills. We couldn’t have done it without you!

To our many friends and family who came to visit and ended up working in the shop during the busy times. I promise next time you visit you wont have to work!

Thanks also to Ange from Geelong for her many unpaid hours of advice regarding the socials and her continued support. I’m sure you’ll enjoy curating my travel socials more than plants and pots! x

You have all contributed to what made Tatanka Gardens so special. It was a massive team effort and we are so grateful that you shared in our dream and supported our journey x

The day I met Claire at Yak Nursery I was still scratching my head trying to figure out the difference between a Peace Lily and a Dracaena. My background was as a travel agent and my plant knowledge was very limited when we first started this little plant shop in the shed. I started a conversation with Claire and she told me she had just moved up from Melbourne and was looking for a job. BINGO!! It was the quickest job interview ever! Her passion for plants and love of discovering and sourcing the unusual was the perfect addition we needed to grow the nursery.

As we grew we needed to expand the team and Claire happened to know a guy called Daz who might be interested in coming on board. When I met Daz I knew he was the right person for the job. Darren’s knowledge for plants is extensive and his passion for the customer to get the right plants for their space is evident in the time and consideration he put into each request.

Claire and Daz are both highly regarded in the nursery industry and the fact that we managed to have them both on staff at Tatanka our little nursery in Eurobin is incredible. I will be forever grateful for their knowledge, passion, loyalty, support and commitment to customer service and sincerely thank them both and wish them all the best as they embark on their next journeys. I will miss the daily banter immensely!

So where to next ?

Claire is off to Park Lane nursery in Wangaratta. So she won’t be too far away! They are so lucky to have her and I know she will succeed in her new nursery assistant role. Claire will also be busy adding new products to her other creative sideline business Billy Button Creations.

Darren AKA Daz will continue to do mobile garden consults and plant sales. He has also started a business called Vine and Thyme Micro Greens, check it out on the socials they are incredible. I know he is going to succeed in all of the new exciting opportunities coming up next!

And a HUGE thank you to our loyal locals and tourists that continued to support our small business. When you purchased from us you allowed us to keep going and helped grow our business and for that we will be forever grateful 🙏

Your beautiful produce was so greatly appreciated in our Jungle Cafe. We would love to say a big THANK YOU to our wonderful community, visitors and followers for the beautiful comments relating to our closing down news. We are blown away, truly humbled and have definitely felt the LOVE 💕

We have 11 days left and lots of preordered stock is still arriving just in time for Mother’s Day. We would love to see you between now and Saturday 13th May.

We will be extending our trading hours this Friday until 6pm. Please redeem any outstanding gift vouchers before Saturday 13 May.

After much consideration we have made the decision to close Tatanka Gardens 😞

We are so grateful for the support and loyalty you have shown us since we opened our gates 3.5 years ago from very humble beginnings to where we are today. It was a massive team effort to get here and what a roller coaster ride it was! We all have so much to be proud of and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you shared in this journey with us.

Our last trading day will be Saturday 13 May and we would love to see you between now and then to say goodbye and maybe you could grab yourself a bargain or redeem any outstanding vouchers whilst you’re at it!

For me personally the connections made with the local community and our incredible staff and the many many visitors that have now become friends are what I will treasure the most.

We hope you have had a lovely Anzac Day morning. Dawn Service in Bright was beautiful as always. Do you have a favourite Anzac Day tradition?

We will be open 10am to 4pm. It’s a perfect day for gardening. Come for a cuppa and grab your supplies… soak up some of this sunshine in our gardens while you are here.

AUTUMN SALE TIME!

For the next week all of our plants, pots and giftware will be 20% off. So many beautiful things to choose from! It’s the perfect opportunity to get your Mother’s Day shopping done early!

We have to make way for new stock so our sale will be running all week long, last day Sunday 16th April.

How lovely was the sound of rain on the roof yesterday?

Just think of all those wonderful things we can all do in the garden this weekend! Perhaps an autumn feed with an organic fertilizer, or some mulching to suppress those inevitable weeds, even some planting that has been put off over summer.
