Merry Chrismas Everyone! and all the best for 2025. Quick update to show one of our Melbourne Backyard Pods projects completed in December. This pod was designed as a home office and storage area. This one was 10m2 which didn't require a building permit. The outside finish is a beautiful spotted gum. We've changed the rules so you can build a granny flat without a permit.

Good news for granny flats - permits are out.

As long as they are less than 60 square metres, no permits are required.

And we’re also introducing more permit exemptions for things like extensions to sheds and carports.

Meaning more space and less hassle.
