Mediterranean inspired plant palette - because native planting isn’t limited to one style 🫒 ☁️

Design concept for a canal project in Halls Head featuring built in curved seating overlooking the water, Grevillea olivacea’s, Westringias, Wild rosemary (Olearia axillaris) and cascading Eremophila with Dichondra ‘Silver Falls’

Wild for Westringias 〰️ There is always at least one form of coastal rosemary in a Frond garden because it is so adaptable. From groundcovers to topiaries to screening hedges along with a variety of foliage & flower colours, this hardy native is a functional additional for any style garden. It responds well to pruning, is drought and frost tolerant, attracts pollinators, and many varieties suit full sun - partial shade 🐝 ⛅️

Welcome home ☀️ A coastal native oasis in Falcon featuring my favourite coastal screening combo of Olearia axillaris and Grevillea olivacea to add privacy to this corner block. It has been a dream working with this client who values native planting and has been a supporter of Frond from the start. So excited to see this one come to life soon!

A showcase of local materials: Limestone in its various forms. Featuring gabion baskets (where nearly every rock has been hand shaped), feature boulders, crushed limestone & rubble. Limestone has a beautiful texture and the light warm tones feel authentic in this coastal context. Rocks also provide habitat for insects & reptiles and captures water (and the birds are loving perching and climbing on the baskets!) 🦎

Watching your garden grow 🌱 With the exception of popular hedging plants and trees, most of your newly installed garden will be from small pots and spaced for growth. While this can look a bit sparse at first, the growth in that first year is so noticeable and exciting we hope you will enjoy the process of seeing the vision come to life

We love what we do, and are passionate about reversing the loss of nature and planting as many natives as possible in the Peel Region. It has been a pleasure to revisit our projects from last year and see the progress, growth and vision come to life.
