Congratulations to Hunter and Angela, who both registered as architects this year and attended the formal conferring ceremony at Parliament last week! Senior Architect Ian Hamilton (middle) provided support throughout the registration process and also attended the ceremony.

It’s a huge achievement and we are all very proud of Hunter and Angela and look forward to working with them as their careers progress.

Last week John, Eloise, and Ian were honoured to attend the official opening of the new McCormack building at in Nundah, pictured in the first image here.

The building incorporates a brand new library, state of the art STEM facilities, flexible learning spaces, and a generous undercroft area. The design was inspired by the adjacent Corpus Christi Church.

We’re proud to have worked for several years with the college- swipe through to the last image to see John, Eloise, and Tyson at an initial masterplanning workshop.

Welcome to our new Graduate of Architecture, Lara Damelian!

Lara is a former competitive surfer with over a year’s experience in architectural practice since graduating her Masters.

In her role at Deicke Richards she contributes to projects that span housing, community, and education. With a strong interest in socially responsive and environmentally conscious design, Lara brings curiosity and a thoughtful approach to her work, exploring how architecture can positively shape everyday life.

Lara supports our project teams across all stages of design and documentation, assisting in research, concept development, and visual communication. She is particularly drawn to projects that balance creative expression with technical precision and that respond to the needs of diverse communities.

Last week Dom attended the official sod turning event for our new project with in Mackay.

The project entails a Community Support Centre and six new 1- and 2- bedroom community housing units.

It’s an important milestone in Vinnies QLD’S goal to build more than 500 new homes across the state, which they continue to raise funds for- visit their website for more info.

The project is designed to maximise the small block it sits on and to fit in with the character of Mackay’s built environment.

We look forward to seeing more updates as construction progresses.
