Now open and already making an impact ❤️‍🩹

The Rockhampton Cardiology Inpatient Unit marks an important step forward in a much larger journey - one that continues to strengthen cardiac care for the Central Queensland community.

Designed through close collaboration and a shared vision, this space supports both patients and clinical teams, creating an environment that is as considered as it is functional. While construction continues around it, this stage is already doing what it was intended to do - supporting care, connection and better health outcomes.

Keep your eyes peeled as the next stages come to life!

A meaningful milestone for a project that will continue to evolve.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see the new Cardiology Inpatient Unit now open and in use, a space shaped through close collaboration, thoughtful design, and a shared commitment to supporting both staff and the community. While there is more to come, there’s something special about seeing these environments begin to serve their purpose and make a real difference day-to-day.

Grateful to be working alongside such a dedicated team, and to be collaborating with Studio STH on the shared effort that has brought this stage to life. Looking forward to what comes next as the next stage continues to take shape.

“Reframing the concept around a central public realm allowed us to better connect buildings, simplify movement and wayfinding, and create a human-centred ‘heart’ of the hospital.”
— Eric Sturlese (PSC Project Lead)

Logan Hospital services one of Queensland’s fastest-growing regions, with demand for healthcare continuing to rise. Logan Hospital Stage 2 responds to this need with a new seven-storey surgical and inpatient care facility, significantly expanding capacity and clinical services.

Designed in collaboration with Studio STH, the project challenges the original concept to improve connectivity across the campus, introducing a new central public realm on Level 02 that strengthens wayfinding and creates a welcoming heart for patients, visitors, and staff.

The development will deliver 112 inpatient beds, 10 operating theatres (plus future expansion), endoscopy and catheterisation suites, CSSD, expanded pharmacy, administration and essential back-of-house facilities - supporting a more efficient, human-centred healthcare environment for the Logan community now and into the future.

Client | Health Infrastructure Queensland
Builder | John Holland Group
Renders | PSC & STH
Value | $890M

Commissioned by The University of Queensland, a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) was prepared for the Hartley Teakle Building at the St Lucia campus to formally assess and document its heritage significance.

Designed by James Birrell and Partners and constructed between 1967–1970, the building is a notable example of New Brutalist architecture, purpose-built for teaching, office and laboratory use. The CMP evaluates the building’s cultural significance, fabric and setting, and proposes a heritage boundary to guide its future conservation and management.

There’s a quiet beauty in the early stages of construction - the promise of what’s to come. Our project is taking shape, guided by thoughtful design, dedicated hands, and a shared vision for the spaces it will soon hold. Each element brings us closer to delivering contemporary, flexible spaces shaped for teaching, learning, and community.
