A fresh new look for 255 Canberra Avenue.

As part of the refurbishment of this ACT Government office building, Castle Glazing ACT supplied and installed all external windows and doors, helping transform the façade with modern, large-format glazing.

Being the first commercial office building in Canberra to adopt passive house design elements and practices, the project set a new benchmark for sustainable workplace design in the ACT. The scope included new front and rear entry airlocks with automatic sliding doors, creating accessible and seamless entry points for staff and visitors, while high-performance double glazing improved both energy efficiency and comfort throughout the building.

The project we keep coming back to — Chapman Early Learning Centre.

Defined by curved glazing and playful architectural design, this early education facility was thoughtfully created with both children and educators in mind.

Featuring curved lower courtyard glazing, continuous window runs and full-circle feature windows, this project remains one of our favourites to look back on. While the design seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with playful elements, the high-performance glazing also delivered practical benefits beyond aesthetics. Viridian Climatech double glazing was used throughout to improve thermal performance and provide year-round comfort across the learning spaces.

The Blue Gum Community School recently refreshed the staff areas at their Hackett Campus.

Castle delivered glazing across the main staff room and kitchen, counselling room, and staff offices to bring in natural light creating brighter spaces that support wellbeing and productivity.

A standout feature is the bifold door system to the main staff room, paired with a custom entry door featuring translucent and textured glass panels. This combination provides privacy while still allowing natural light to filter through the space.

The campus expansion at Franklin Early Childhood School delivered new learning areas, staff facilities, and shared communal spaces. These new buildings feature fixed glazing, double-glazed units, sliding and hinged doors, and Breezway louvres, all carefully selected for their durability, ventilation capabilities, and thermal efficiency. The end result is an upgraded space for students and teachers that fosters a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Our team was thrilled to supply and install all external windows and doors, using high-performance AWS systems tailored to the needs of a busy early learning environment.

A standout feature is the selective use of Vanceva coloured interlayers, introducing subtle pops of colour while delivering UV resistance, long-lasting colour stability and the added safety benefits of laminated glass.
