Got a yard that’s gone from “a little overgrown” to “David Attenborough could film a documentary in there”?
Well… there was definitely not much weeding to do here! 🌿😂
When the weeds are taller than the lawn mower, you know it’s no longer a quick tidy-up.....it’s an expedition.
This massive yard had well and truly decided to return to nature, so out came the slasher, mower and plenty of determination. Halfway through, the slasher handle snapped because apparently even the equipment had seen enough and tried to resign. 🤦‍♀️
A huge thank you to my mate who saved the day by dropping another one out to me so I could keep going. Absolute legend!
After plenty of slashing, mowing, clearing and probably disturbing several small ecosystems, the yard was finally brought back under control. The difference speaks for itself, you can actually see the ground again! 🙌

A little freshen-up can make a whole lot of difference! 🎨✨
This garden gazebo was looking a little tired and faded, so it was treated to a fresh coat of paint and just like that, she’s gone from “I’ve seen better days” to “pull up a chair and admire me.” 😂
The rich colour has brought the whole structure back to life and given this gorgeous garden space the tidy, polished finish it deserved.
No demolition and no dramatic makeover-show reveal, just plenty of preparation, a few coats of paint and a lot of time spent up a ladder questioning my life choices.
There was also a surprise interaction with an uninvited eight-legged site supervisor while I was up there… resulting in me very nearly launching myself off the ladder. 🕷️😳 Apparently the gazebo already had a resident tradesman, and he wasn’t impressed with my work! 😂

From “she’ll be right” to actually right! 😂🔨
This veranda had definitely seen better days, with tired, damaged timber and sections of roofing needing a full refresh.
The old structure was stripped back, damaged timber replaced and new clear roofing installed — letting the light back in while keeping the area protected from the weather.
A solid little transformation that’s made the space safer, brighter and much more usable. 💪☀️

Well… this roof was certainly dressed for winter! 🌲
The roof, carport and gutters were absolutely buried under a very impressive collection of pine needles — enough to start a small Christmas tree farm!
After plenty of sweeping, blowing, scooping and questioning my life choices, the tiles, roof valleys and carport were finally cleared, and the gutters were once again flowing freely.
A massive job, but an even bigger difference! 💪🏠

From wild backyard to usable space again.
This big clean-up revealed more than just ground, we uncovered hidden stone-lined paths and old brick features...
Not saying we found ancient ruins… but the backyard definitely had a few secrets hiding under all that grass. Special mention to the lizard 🦎 found laying under a piece of tin sheeting.
