KIS - keep it sustainable Gardening Gardening services Hi! I’m a Geelong based gardener, offering weeding, pruning, mulching/chipping and general tidying. I charge by the hour as opposed to quotes.

I prefer to use your garden equipment for big jobs such as mowing (please discuss). I’m in favour of using natural or manual methods of pest control, only poisoning as a last resort. Please message me to arrange a booking.

🌵How to plant your large cactus! But seriously, this is how they germinate in the wild! Leave them laying down long enough like I have and they'll start sending off shoots and producing roots to stabilise themselves!
⚠️The prickles will likely pe*****te garden gloves and fingers. If you don't have tongs kicking around, you can fold over a newspaper page many times to form a rudimentary belt to sling under and lift your cactus.

🌷Daffodil tip: Daffodils and jonquils need all the energy they put into their leaves, to go back into the bulbs after flowering. If you trim them, rather than letting them die back naturally, you could be missing out on flowers next year! However, you can trim the spent flowers before the plant puts its energy into making fruit.

🌱Quick tip: when your hellebores are in flower, you can remove the large leaves at the bottom for a tidier appearance.
Bonus: if you have multiple hellebores in the same space, they can cross-pollinate. The resulting self-sown plant will have a different flower!
