"When you're married to an arb, holidays always become about the trees" 😅
Found this beauty in a quiet corner of a resort, in amongst the palm trees. Ahhh, the serenity!

Running a small business isn’t always the highlight reel people see on social media 🤳

This week's reality check: equipment breakdowns 😣

When one key piece of machinary goes down, it can slow jobs, delay timelines, and throw a serious spanner in the works. And being small business, we don’t just have a spare chipper chilling in the yard 😓

That said, this is also where small businesses show their grit. We troubleshoot, adapt, and make the calls. We provide the same great service and keep moving forward, even when we're down and out because our customers and our crew depend on it. 💪 💪

Thanks to everyone who’s patient and supportive when things don’t go right for us behind the scenes. We’re always working to get back up and running as quickly and safely as possible. 🌳

Well… that escalated quickly 😅🌳

One helluva first week back for the Urban Tree Works crew! We jumped in 3 days earlier than planned after some wild winds rolled through on the back of a scorching 42° day last Friday 🌬️🔥

Throw in another week of crazy weather and a stack of emergency/safety jobs, and what was meant to be a cruisy return turned into a few 11+ hour days 💪

Huge thank you to our incredible crew who pulled some massive hours this week — when they probably would’ve much rather been enjoying a cold beer 🍺 — just to make sure we could deliver the same level of service our customers expect, while navigating some very serious safety concerns too. Absolute legends 👊🌲

Massively grateful for the clients who know they can call us when things go sideways (or ripped from the ground in some instances) — when chaos hits, we’ll always do our best to help 🌳💚

Now it’s time for everyone to gear up and stay prepared, with more fire danger weather forecast for next week 🔥🚨

🚨 Extreme & Catastrophic Fire Weather Warning – Safety First 🚨

With extreme heat and strong winds today, the risk of tree failure and falling limbs is significantly increased. Dry, stressed trees can drop branches or fall without warning.

Please remember YOUR SAFETY COMES FIRST:
• ⚠️ Keep clear of large or overhanging trees
• ⚠️ Avoid parking or sheltering under trees
• ⚠️ Stay well away from fallen trees or hanging limbs
• ⚠️ Do not attempt DIY removal in these conditions

If a tree has fallen or looks unsafe, do not approach it—especially if powerlines may be involved. Once conditions are safe, working in collaboration with emergency services, our team can assess and manage hazardous trees properly.

🌬️🌡️ Days like today are a reminder that tree safety matters.

Stay alert, stay safe, and look out for one another.

🚒 Bushfire season is here – is your property ready for emergency access? 🔥

One of the most important (and often overlooked) steps in bushfire preparation is ensuring fire services can safely and quickly access your property if needed.

✔️ Make sure driveways are clear, wide enough, and free from overhanging branches
✔️ Clearly display property numbers so crews can find you fast
✔️ Ensure gates are unlocked or have approved emergency access
✔️ Maintain turning areas for fire trucks
✔️ Keep access tracks clear of vegetation and obstacles

In an emergency, every minute counts. 🕐

Well… we survived another year in the ever-evolving, and always slightly chaotic, tree industry. I call that a WIN! 🎉

As the year comes to a close, we just want to say THANK YOU to our amazing customers, neighbors, and fellow tree lovers 🌳💚
This year we:
✔️ Removed trees that “definitely looked fine last week”
✔️ Pruned branches that had beef with roofs, fences, and service lines
✔️ Answered “Can you just lop it?” more times than we can count 😅
✔️ Finally put to good use some of the 3000 odd tree photos clogging our phones... we turned them into an awesome new website 💻

Seriously though—because of you, we got to do what we love: keep properties safer, trees healthier...and despite our best intentions, still managed to only mildly inconvenience those damn possums!

Here’s to a new year of strong roots, steady hands, sharp chains, and trees that fall exactly where we tell them to 🪵💪

Happy New Year from all of us at Urban Tree Works! 🎆🌳
