Fox Building Group has been named a finalist in THREE categories at the 2025 HIA Western Victoria Regional Awards for Kelly & Gavin’s stunning Waurn Ponds home, designed by RUBI Architects and built with care by Fox.

🏆 Renovation/Addition Project over $1 million

Winners will be announced on 19 September, but being a finalist is already a huge honour. Congrats to Jesse Harris and the whole Fox team - and of course, the biggest win is knowing Kelly & Gavin absolutely love their home. 💚

Morning light spills across the elegant Agave-toned joinery, illuminating the warm grey stone benchtop and reflecting off the brass rangehood cover. This beautifully curated kitchen at our Waurn Ponds project, designed by , was envisioned with connection in mind—both to the landscape and the rituals of daily life.

Gavin's wish for morning sun on his back while enjoying breakfast is realised in this thoughtfully designed space. Framed by licorice "kitkat" tiles, the black sink and cooktop add bold contrast to the soft palette, grounding the design in elegance and practicality.

When our clients approached us, their vision was clear—to transform their existing residence into a modern sanctuary that still echoed its rural roots. They wanted a design that would breathe new life into the property, maintaining its soul while embracing contemporary living.

Our approach focused on creating a seamless blend of modern architecture with timeless rural charm. Expansive glazing now captures the landscape's ever-changing moods, while exposed timber trusses pay homage to the home’s original character. The addition of a sleek pool terrace extends the living space, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor, and setting the stage for serene country living.

Built with precision and crafted for enduring beauty, this home is a testament to thoughtful design that honors the past while embracing the future.
