Lately I’ve been reading Slow Productivity and one idea really stood out to me:
Rituals aren’t just habits. They’re signals.
When you repeat the same small actions before a task—making a tea, lighting a candle, opening your notebook, sitting in a specific chair—your brain starts to associate those actions with focus.
Over time, you spend less energy trying to get started and more energy actually doing the work.
This is one of the reasons I’m so interested in wellbeing design. Our spaces and rituals work together to shape our daily experiences.
What’s a small ritual that helps you focus or feel more present?
