The truth is (limestone/travertine) is actually far more vunerable to stains and damage. Because they are calcium based, things likepool chlorine, bird droppings or a spilled glass of wine will instantly etch into the surface and leave permanent marks. Himalayan sandstone is quartz based, meaning it is highly resistant to chemical and acid damage. Plus unlike limestone, Himalayan sandstone is tough enough that you can safely pressure wash it whenever you want without risking eroding or ruining the stones surface.
