Finished this one today. Stairs came up really nice! Decking Board Set Out 👌 = Vertical lines of screen run down and through the stair treads to a wrapped Stair Stinger with 45° compound mitres.

First time working with a Plungie. Plungie Australia. Great little pool!
Craned in and installed in a day, Amazing!

This deck is strong and beautiful! The entire frame is 100% free standing. Fixing to the pool was an absolute no go! Walls of the plungie are only 100mm thick so there was no chance that we were even thinking about drilling into that. So no real anchors on this one...

Instead, back to old school timber bracing. And nothing beats it! Every intersection triple griped and J hanged. Posts, double bearers and braces all M12 bolted. STRONG and STRAIGHT as an arrow. Great timber from Robina Mitre10 Trade Centre👌

Beautiful decking boards! 140 x 19mm Pacific Crows Ash. Supplied by Gooding Timber & Hardware. First time we have put this product down. Super dence hardwood and such a nice golden colour. Will definitly be recommending this to clients.👌

The owners are doing the retaining, landscaping and installing the pool fencing, so we are all done. All in all really happy with this one!

Deck Veranda / roof extension - Mermaid

It was so nice to go back to timber for a change! Every patio is insulated these days...

We extended this 1st storey veranda and roof by 2400mm which doubled the size of exisitng. We deleted the original centre post, extended beams. New hardwood handrails and stainless balustrading. New paint and New electrical all to perfectly suit and match the existing home! Happy Clients!

Inbuilt BBQ - Beauty and a Beast! Varsity Lakes (My House)

I Bought the BBQ for a Christmas present to myself. Matador 4 burner, Its the same actual cooker thats in the big outdoor kitchen at bunnings for over $3000. I Thought I'd buy the inbuilt version, save some coin and build the surrounds myself. I rather ditch all the stainless steel drawers and fridge and do something abit more special.

We recently built a new pool in the backyard, so I had a massive pile of river stones that i had removed and saved for repurposeing from our old back garden.

Im not much of bricklayer and Ive never laid stones before. So the best way for me to get started on this project was to build the supporting frames out of timber. Now generally this would be done out of bricks. But you know, what ever... I watched a few YouTube videos and it seemed to workout alright. I cladded the timber frame in blue board for bracing and a backing for the stones and mortar. I formed up and poured for a continuous 1 piece concrete top with waterfall sides. It was then time to dive in to the unknown. Lay River stones 1 by 1. It turns out that a single layer of stones is incredibly hard to lay. You need to find that perfect rock with perfect shape to match, but it also has to have decent top on it so you can lay the next one... I keyed the mortar to the blue board by screwing in decking screws every 2nd stone. Probably 200 or so in total. The top wall was far easier to lay as its thick. Quick Acid wash and a pressure clean.??? 6 hours?? I had also never done that before. Thanks YouTube.

Im super proud of the end result considering that this is off trade. Probs one of the best things I've ever built. She's still not 100% finished. Still contemplating a sealer for wetlook stones plus i still have to grind and polish the concrete tops. And i will most likely build a small roof before next summer.

All In all it was a fun build. Enjoyed every moment and can't wait to work with stones again.

Multi level pool deck - Burleigh Heads

This is the best deck we've done!
Im so proud of this one! 7 Levels. 6 lvls of the most beautiful Aussie species hardwood. Silver Top Ash. So nice! Top lvl Hardie Deck. WOW! Love it! Loving this one!

Low frame, 7 levels, drainage, top lvl built over water tanks. Floating between Steel Beams. Every intersection triple griped and joist hangered. Siver top ash came pre oiled with 1st coat. Which was fun to deal with. But Aussie species need to be treated right! This deck is strong, unique, and absolutly awesome.

WANT a Deck? (For next year) sorry we are pumped!
