This is my second year speaking at the Gold Coast EcoMarines Breakfast.

This program is right at the heart of everything I’ve done. It’s showed me that what you care about isn’t just a hobby, it’s the start of something much bigger.

Whether it’s sharks, science, sport, or art, your passion is your lighthouse. You don’t have to have it all figured out. Just keep saying yes to opportunities, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to step up, even when it’s terrifying.

Big thanks to EcoMarines, Gold Coast City Council, and to the community who back the ambassadors and support crew, allowing them to make real change. The future isn’t somewhere far away, it’s happening now, and it’s in great hands.

When I finished up as a Youth Member in 2023, I thought that was it. I had a five year plan and just couldn’t see how I could fit in another commitment. But as last year came to an end, I realised the world can wait. You’re only young once, and experiences like this don’t come back around.

Signing back up with Queensland Youth Parliament as a mentor for 2025 has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I’d forgotten just how much this program changed me. I wouldn’t be on the path I’m on today if it wasn’t for QYP giving me the tools and lighting the road ahead. Now I get to be the kind of person I once looked up to.

This year has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I’ve grown, I’ve learnt, and along the way I’ve met people that have come to feel like family.

If you’re a young person who already has a voice, or if you haven’t quite found yours yet, take the leap and apply. You never know how much it might change your life too.

These little hands are holding a big future. 💚

I feel so lucky to be able to share some of the places that first sparked my love for nature with my nephew.

When kids get to experience up close the wonders of this world they build a real connection with the planet. And that connection is what grows into a lifelong passion of protecting it.

Let’s raise the next generation of changemakers who love the planet because they’ve felt its magic!

Bit of a belated post, as always. In June, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the Gold Coast Women in Business Women’s Leadership Dinner. It was truly extraordinary to be surrounded by devoted, and powerful women making real change in the world. I was grateful to share a little bit about my journey, alongside other young leaders.

There’s something so inspiring about looking around a room and seeing women from all walks of life achieving extraordinary feats and making a real positive impact. Extremely grateful to be able to attend this opportunity!

Excited to share my experience speaking at Altitude Day, hosted by yLead! I talked about how something as unique as my love for sharks is what started me down a journey of leadership and on a mission to create a better world. It was an honour to chat with young leaders and encourage them to pursue their own passions and embrace leadership opportunities.

yLead is a truly extraordinary program and one I actually remember completing when I was back in school, so it was awesome to be able to go back and reflect on how far I’ve come since I completed the program.

Always remember that the world is better because YOU are here and that your AUTHENTICITY (even if that means being a weird little shark nerd) is your GREATEST ASSET.

Was awesome to finally meet with Danielle Dunsmore For Mayor, a candidate in the 2024 Gold Coast Mayoral Election. Her focus on Integrity, Environment and Liveability are principles I also hold so it was exciting to offer my support for her.

My friend asked her why she was running for Mayor and she responded “I just couldn’t” and that’s something that’s really stuck with me. I’m keen to see what she’ll achieve for the Gold Coast community.

If you can I ask that you show her some support by learning about her candidacy, following her on social media, volunteering or even donating.

The Goldie will be in safe hands under Danielle Dunsmore.
