I love spring as the plants always look so amazing. Their growth is really noticeable.

This is a batch of our tubestock that was delivered to a client this morning.

I'm really digging the contrasting pinks, reds and greens in this group. Our wax Begonia babies are flowering, and the coleus are so colourful!

Wholesale trays of 30 colourful mixed tubestock plants are available from our nursery in Perth, Western Australia. Check out www.edenplantnursery.com for more details. Happy gardening! 🌱

Painted Nettles - also known by their genus name Coleus.

These come in a variety of colours including reds, greens and yellows. I'm a fan of the bright reds and variegated reds and greens for a fantastic pop of colour.

They can be kept indoors in bright indirect or direct light. They can also be kept outdoors, but are frost tender, so need to be in a sheltered position when it's cold.

These are available in our wholesale trays of mixed tubestock from www.edenplantnursery.com

New to the nursery - Horned Violets (Viola cornuta).

Not commonly kept indoors, but they're a fantastic pop of colour if you have a bright window sill.

Horned Violets are perennial in the right conditions, and will bloom all summer. They will wilt in hot temperatures, so if you have air conditioning they'll be super happy.

More colours will be available soon in our 50mm tubes from www.edenplantnursery.com

The Swedish Ivy in the nursery is looking pretty happy after today's heavy rain.

As a fast growing and attractive plant it's great for ground cover in shady areas, hanging baskets or pots indoors.

It's had a few scientific name changes - including Plectranthus australis, P. nummularius and P. verticillatus (the current name).

Lots of new spring growth on the Algerian Ivy at the moment. 🌱

Though I enjoy the patterns on the variegated variety, the standard green just seems more lush to me. It also handles Perth's hot dry summers a bit better - the variegated leaves burn more easily when grown outside. Both kinds can be grown indoors in areas with moderate to bright light.

Algerian Ivy suits hanging baskets or totems. It grows quickly when it's happy and can reach lengths of over 6m.

I grow these in the nursery in 50mm forestry tubes. Perfect for starting your own totem. 🌿

My plant of the day is Tradescantia, which is also known by many other names - including Inchplant, Spiderwort and Wandering Jew.

I found this variety escaping from someone's garden. I believe it's Tradescantia blossfeldiana, but I may be wrong. It has beautiful shiny bright green leaves, with royal purple colouring underneath - quite striking. 😮

In any case, it's now propagating in my kitchen and will probably be added to the nursery too. 😃

The Wasabi in the nursery is looking fantastic. I love it and it looks like it loves me too! Lol.

Did you know you can keep wasabi as an indoor plant? It absolutely hates direct sunlight, and is perfect for cooler areas indoors with moderate light.

Moist, rich soil and a shady spot are what wasabi craves. Misting in summer can keep it from wilting from the heat if it's in a warmer area outdoors.

Did you know that most wasabi sold in shops and restaurants us actually just horseradish tinted green?

Harvest the rhizome after two years and you can make your own wasabi for sushi and sashimi.

The plants will readily produce offsets/babies, so you'll always have a supply available.

We'll be at the Roleystone Markets this weekend with some wasabi plants available. 🌱
