Here at Rewild Horticulture our work is varied and specialised.

A few terms of the work we undertake and what they mean. Don't be overwhelmed by the 'words' we are using nature to help nature. Just with a little science and good practices to achieve the best outcomes we can.

Phytoremediation: Using specialized plants and trees to extract, degrade, or contain heavy metals, hydrocarbons, and excessive nutrients from the soil.

Bioremediation: Incorporating microbes, fungi, and natural enzymes to break down chemical contaminants like pesticide residues.Biofumigants & Cover Cropping:

Planting and incorporating specific cover crops (e.g., Ethiopian mustard) to enrich the soil microbiome and suppress soil-borne pathogens.

Soil Washing & Amendment: Treating the physical growing medium with chelants, organic matter, or appropriate salts to balance pH and correct salinity issues.

Some of the latest work we've been undertaking here at Rewild Horticulture.
This week we are heading to Currumbin, Guanaba and Mount Nathan for various projects.
Autumn is a beautiful time to be in the garden pruning back and giving a last feed before winter.

Today we started to integrate a new process to treat Woody W**ds - 'Myco Regen'. It involves the use of inoculated wooden dowels.
The trees treated today were Cadaghi (Corymbia torelliana). Native to North Queensland but now considered a serious invasive w**d here in the South East.

The process is quite simple as you'll see from the photos.

Step 1. Ring bark the tree around head height.
Step 2. Run a racing stripe down the southern edge of the tree to the root ball. You may need more than one stripe depending on the size of the tree.
Step 4 Drill and Fill and seal.
Step 5. Tag and wait.

In about 3 months you will have 20 cent size pieces of edible mushroom. In about 12 months the mycelium would have become one with the tree and will continue to eat the tree and return it's bio mass to the forest floor. This process is more in sync with nature and does not use any harmful chemicals. At the same time you are creating an edible food forest.

Please get in contact if you're interested in this process.

Welcome to 2026. Gardens are in full swing at the moment, lots of w**d suppression and Pest Management with the hot and dry weather. Remember best practice usually wins the day but not always. Plants need love and attention to thrive.

Tools we are loving this year.

AEG Electronic Secateures.
Bahco Plant Knife.
Myco Regen Inoculated Wooden Dowls for treating woody w**ds.
Showa Garden Gloves.

Recent work includes -

Location Guanaba.

Setting up control points and monitoring of an infestation of spider mites. The hedge concerned has one of the worst infestations I have seen. Vigilant monitoring and Bi Weekly spraying with a mix of Pyrethrum and White oil will reduce these pests but pruning of the effected leaves will need to be done to remove them as they will not recover.

Location - Mount Nathan

Carrying out restorative works to a creek line, removing invasive w**ds such as Lantana and Creeping Crofton W**d. Identification of Invasive w**ds and logging Native Fauna.

Location - Guanaba

Reducing w**d pressure and creating a native 'Revegetation Exclusion Zone'.

Identifying invasive w**ds and exotic grasses and implementing a w**d management plan to suite the site and client expectations.

Just some of what we have been up to lately.

If you are a landholder and are looking for a long term solution to your w**d management or garden please get in touch for a consultation.

See you out there.

June has brought some cooler weather and a time to catch up on some maintenance and getting those untidy areas under control before the Spring growth. It's a great time to be cutting back your roses ready for the new season and mulching for w**ds, moving debris. Here at AEITG we are helping clients reclaim areas of their land requiring care, knowledge and time. Horticulture gives a great insight into thinking about tackling different tasks with multiple ideas.
Here's some things we've been upto lately.

Colder temperatures are here. It's time to get those w**dy areas under control before Spring. Here at AEITG we have a hands on approach to w**ding literally. Most of our w**ding is done by hand with a keen eye and a few great tools. We have an old fashioned hand scythe for longer grass, specialist secateurs for long vines and grass and a large bladed machete if we really need to get into it. Hand tools give you a great connection to your work and soul.
If you'd like us to consult on a property and create and Integrated W**d Management (IWM) plan please get in touch.

Here's a selection of great work we've been doing lately.
