After many years I finally got my full composite FW-190A8 test flown. Many thanks to Jason Sagaidak, Jason Starkey and Glenn Dunstan for help along the way and on the day of test flight. Flew well with the Zenoah GT 80
twin with adequate power.

Happy new year to my fellow modellers wherever you may call home.
I have not posted much of late but still busy with composite related projects. Some for myself and some for others.
Completed a composite scratch built old school Laser 200 of 50-70cc 94 inch wingspan.
Plus obtained a damaged Hangar 9 33% piper Pawnee which has been keeping me busy if late. Due to this plane no longer available parts are not easy to get and thanks to Ross who I purchased this project from he sourced lots of replacement parts.
One such part was the cowl which I ended up moulding and can make replacements for others who need one.
Plenty of other projects to distract but always enjoying the hobby.

Decided to do a ‘dirty wash’ on the underside of the wing. I used watered down craft paint brushed on and then wipe off with a damp cloth with metholated spirits. Still might wipe more off not sure if it’s to much?

I have recently completed molds and parts for the radiator outlet door and frame plus the forward canopy frame done. Looking mean.

Of late I have been repairing a Comp ARF extra 120cc for a associate. Undercarriage was torn out plus general surface tidy ups and primed ready for final colour scheme.

More work on the wing internals on the FW -190 A8. It’s easy making accurate retract rails when you have a thicknesser.

Wing skins are done, ailerons, tailplane and rudder are layed up under vacuum as we speak.
Next molds prepped are gun hood and cowl.
