Ever wondered how you could take a very old cottage - like the second-oldest house in Sandy Bay - bring it back to life and make it a very comfortable home to support contemporary ways of life?

If yes, we are delighted that our lovely client, the owner of has agreed to open his home for this year’s - for the design-savvy and/or nosey people of Tasmania.

He will be in attendance, to tell you how much he loved working with us - and probably a little about the house
You are also lucky enough to have to discuss how she honed the interiors.
We will even have the builder, Dave of .construction.tasmania , on site - to explain how he makes the near-impossible look effortless.

The property will be open on Sunday, 09 November, 10am - 1pm
No need to book - just head over to for details

We look forward to seeing you there!

Rammed earth is one of our favourite materials - it’s raw simplicity; the tones and textures; it’s acoustic and thermal qualities
It’s important to experience it as a three-dimensional material - not just a lovely surface - so we endeavour to organise the flow so that you walk around and through the walls.
At it is located centrally, with every space either adjacent or within the earthy curve, adding delight to the daily ritual.
It also adds valuable thermal mass to the otherwise lightweight building.

While the house is still a the rammed earth is already stealing the show!

After a very long time [15 years?] our co-tenants, RED Sustainability, have changed tack and so no longer need their half our our delightful office space.

Located in a building that has been a factory, mechanics and then seen a long line of practices in the fields of architecture and landscape, the office sits alongside the Hobart Rivulet on the edge of the CBD.

The available space is over the two upper levels, separate from our own; and can accommodate 4-6 people.
Shared facilities including meeting room, kitchen and deck that cantilevers over the rivulet.

We are very open to sharing with anyone outside the design fields [as well as any of our friends within]

Available immediately, please contact us if you would like to discuss or have a look through - maybe you will be our new co-tenants!

As the exterior of is completed, some very lovely craftsmanship is appearing.
Brad at .build has done an extraordinary job at lining the entry soffit, with the boards meticulously following the beautiful curve created by the rammed earth wall!
