Projects like Happy Larry Deli remind us why we love hospitality design. They challenge us to think smarter, work harder and deliver maximum impact within real constraints.
Happy Larry presented an unusually shaped tenancy, a compact footprint and defined budget parameters, but these are often the projects where the most creative thinking happens.
Through careful space planning, clever storage and a highly efficient layout, we transformed the space into a vibrant and functional deli that works hard in every square metre.
The bold orange and burnt umber palette, inspired by the owners’ heritage, became central to the design story, introducing warmth, energy and identity throughout the interior.
Hospitality projects often demand quick thinking, creativity and an extensive knowledge of suppliers, lead times and construction realities, and this project called on all of those skills.
Working closely with the builder, we balanced cost and impact, selecting materials and detailing that delivered maximum effect without compromising budget or intent.
There was a real energy to the process, drawing on experience to know where to save, where to invest and how to make every decision count.
The result is a bright, happy and highly functional deli that reflects the spirit of its owners, Vaz and Uzma. It's welcoming, energetic and full of personality, and unmistakably Happy Larry.
