🌱 Support the Next Generation – Become a Community Partner 🌱

I am excited to announce that, together with Workskills Tasmania, I will once again be delivering the Grow Program this July at Eureka Clubhouse for Home Base.

This fantastic program provides young people with the opportunity to develop practical gardening skills while building confidence, resilience, teamwork, and a positive pathway towards future employment.

To continue delivering programs like this and supporting members of our community, I am seeking local businesses to become sponsors of Community Garden Maintenance.

For just $100, sponsors will receive: ✅ Advertising on my website
✅ Recognition on Facebook and LinkedIn
✅ The opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to giving back to the community and supporting positive social outcomes

All community gardening work and mentoring that I provide is done free of charge. This means I personally cover the costs of equipment, fuel, insurance, maintenance, and other ongoing expenses required to keep these programs running.

Your support not only helps me continue this work—it directly benefits the people and communities we serve.

If your business would like to be part of this initiative and help create opportunities for young people while supporting vulnerable members of our community, I would love to hear from you.

Please contact me directly to discuss sponsorship opportunities.

💚 Together, we can grow stronger communities, one garden at a time. 🌱

Whether it's raining or shining, I won't let people down. 🌧️☀️

Today, despite the rain, I had two gardening jobs to complete.

The first was for a Loreto Community Housing client who, at 89 years of age, is no longer able to maintain her large yard. She was emotional and incredibly grateful that I was able to mow her lawns today. It certainly wasn't ideal weather for mowing, but with my schedule booked out for the next 10 weeks, I didn't want to leave her waiting.

The second job was for a client supported by Home Base and Mission Australia. The work involved cutting back shrubs and trees that were impacting pathways and entrances to the home. Once again, the client was extremely grateful and couldn't believe I was out there working in the rain.

Both of these clients are elderly, and both take great pride and joy in their outdoor spaces. I feel very privileged to help ensure their "happy place" remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable.

This is what I do — one garden at a time. 🏡❤️

Today I spent some time in the garden helping friends who are preparing to put their property on the market.

They didn’t ask for help, but I know life gets busy and time can be hard to find.

I was more than happy to lend a hand for such kind and genuine people, and I was really pleased with what I could achieve in the time I had available today.

Wishing them, and all of my followers, kindness, happiness, and positive thoughts 😊 ♥️

Today’s free gardening job was for a client of Baptcare ♥️

The client needed some pruning and weeding done, and once the work was finished they were incredibly appreciative. They couldn’t believe how much more natural light was coming into their home.

Jobs like this are really rewarding. Bringing more sunshine into someone’s home not only brightens the space, but can also have a positive impact on mental wellbeing.

Very grateful to be able to support people in our community who need a helping hand 😊🏡

Today’s free gardening job really got me thinking.

The job was referred to me by a local health clinic for a young man living with chronic back pain.

When I arrived, I knocked on the door but there was no answer. I called the phone number provided, still no answer, so I contacted the clinic to discuss what to do next. Together, we decided to go ahead with the work anyway.

Whether he was home or not honestly didn’t matter to me. The garden needed some care, and helping people is what this service is all about.

There’s no judgement — just a genuine passion to support people who may be doing it tough and to make a positive difference where I can.

You don’t always need to be paid to create impact, and maybe that’s what makes this free gardening service so special ♥️

Ps. No photos because I didn't have consent.

Today's free gardening job was in fact a client of Glenorchy Health Centre 🏡

Lots of appreciation here, and the photos don't really show the effort that was put in.

A lovely day, great weather, only downside misplaced my good secateurs.

Looking forward to next week's free gardening job ♥️

Update 🏡

I’ve taken a couple of weeks off to recharge and spend some quality time with the family. Feeling refreshed and excited to get back into helping our community again.

A few updates:

The trailer is currently with the signwriters getting fresh sponsor branding — I’ll share a video once it’s ready to go.

Workskills Tasmania has come on board again for another round of the Grow Program, where we provide mentorship, opportunities, and hands-on work experience for people looking to enter the workforce.

I’m looking forward to next week’s job, helping out a Neighbourhood House client — and as always, it’ll be completely free 😀

Today’s free gardening job 🌿

I was originally scheduled to help a family in their garden today, but their housing situation unexpectedly changed.

The lovely lady I’d been speaking with asked if I might be able to help another family who were struggling to keep on top of their garden due to health challenges — and of course I said yes.

The person I helped today was incredibly grateful and would never have asked for assistance herself, but a friend reached out because she genuinely needed a hand.

This is exactly why I do what I do. I feel very fortunate to be able to support people in our community and help lighten the load, even just a little.

Wasn't going to do before and after photos but here is one little section that looks a bit better.

Helping people in our community — one week at a time 🏡🙂
