WHAT IS PEAT MOSS?

Peat Moss is a dark brown fibrous moss and other organic materials that form in peat bogs over thousands of years.

It is mixed into soils as a plant growing medium.

Peat Moss holds a higher acid environment and is good for growing:
🫐Blueberries, strawberries.
🍋Lemon balm, basil, marjoram, mint, oregano, rosemary, thyme.
🥒Asparagus, leeks, lettuce, sugar peas, spaghetti squash.
🌺Azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas, rhododendrons.

Benefits of Peat Moss:

✅ Sterile - does not contain bacteria, fungus, w**d seeds, or harmful chemicals.
✅ Excellent water holding capacity - can hold up to 25 times dry weight in water
✅Acidic pH - for Blueberry plants, having a growing medium with a slightly acidic pH is a big advantage.
✅Lightweight product
✅Doesn’t compact - “springy” and resists compaction, allowing for open pore space within the material.
✅Drains freely - excess water quickly moves through the material to drain out.
✅Holds nutrients - Due to its structure it has a high cation exchange capacity
