💭 How do I prune my rose plants? 💭
We are often asked when it’s the right time to prune roses, and our answer is very simple: any day after the 21st June will be fine. Rose plants are dormant in winter: no flowers, no leaves, just sticks in the ground. It’s exactly at this stage that we need to give them a good “haircut” and the right start for a new big growth in spring time.
There are many theories about rose pruning and we are often asked which one is the best.
Brian just follows two main rules when he prunes his roses:
• Cut the old wood
• Prune to shape
