When?
8th December to 19th December 2025

Some of these locations, in the new year, will receive a new layer of Asphalt. When this time comes, we will provide an update for that schedule.

We currently have a great opportunity available for an experienced Estimator & Planner for our Total Asphalt team.

Based in Kalgoorlie, you will be responsible for maximising profit and financial performance through the effective and efficient management of the estimating & planning process.

Key Duties:
- Professionally prepare quotes, offers, tenders and expressions of interest
- Manage contract risk through efficient and effective pre-tender reviews, contract reviews & project post audits
- Working as a team
- Develop and maintain long term, mutually beneficial relationships with key customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods
- Value add wherever possible to meet and/or exceed client expectations and improve profitability.
- Database Management
- Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins
- Scheduling/Planning works up to 3 months in advance
- Working with Microsoft Excel & MYOB

About You:
- Permanent Resident of Australia
- Proven ability and experience in estimating / contract negotiation / contract administration / project management within the construction or civil construction industry
- Tertiary qualifications in either Civil Engineering or Project Management (preferable, not required)
- A strong commitment to safety and the environment along with a superior customer focus
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills in an estimating program and Microsoft Office

Role Overview:
Total Asphalt is seeking a Payroll Administrator who will be able to start immediately and fulfil the following.

You will be required to complete the following (but not limited to):
- Greeting Visitors
- Answering incoming calls
- Organising travel & accommodation for traveling employees
- Completing end to end payroll on a fortnightly basis
- Onboarding and offboarding employees through the payroll systems
- Overseeing and resolving payroll queries / issues
- Timesheet and shift information management
- Credit card statement processing
- Managing databases
- Manage and organise office operations
- Maintaining basic bookkeeping
- Employee records
- Archiving

About you:
- Permanent Resident of Australia
- Qualification in a related discipline is highly desirable
- Experience in a previous Pay roll position (Required)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite systems e.g. Excel
- High attention to detail and organisation
- Previous experience with long service leave and superannuation processes
- Previous use of MYOB (Required)
- Ability to handle highly confidential information

📅 Works will take place in stages between 25 November 2024 and the end of January 2025 in the following areas:

📍 Burt Street & Lane Street roundabout
📍 Burt Street & Hamilton Street roundabout

One section will be completed at a time, with only one side of the road being closed at any one time. This will minimise disruption to trade, with one-way access still being available along Burt Street.

It’s with a heavy heart that we share this post. The team members of Overwatch Traffic Services were heading home after supporting the Kalgoorlie Desert Race and Road Works within Kalgoorlie when this tragic accident occurred. Overwatch Traffic Services is a major sponsor and part of the event, without their services there wouldn't be any racing.

Without them we wouldn't be able to complete work on our roads around town safely.

Thanks to the traffic management team, our love and thoughts are with you all.

Our door is always open.

It is with profound sadness that Overwatch Traffic Services announces the loss of one of our team members, who tragically passed away following a recent motor vehicle incident. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this extremely difficult time.

At Overwatch, safety is not only a priority but the foundation of our operations. We remain fully committed to upholding the highest safety standards for both our employees and the public. As an organisation dedicated to traffic management, we continuously assess and refine our safety practices to mitigate risks and safeguard our team.

Total Asphalt is aware of another company in town using our work and name to sell off their product at an increased rate of 2-3x more than market value.

These fake tradies are not us! Please DO NOT hand over your cash!

Be on alert for bitumen bandits – Consumer Protection WA has received reports they may be currently targeting consumers and businesses with the Goldfields Esperance Region with their dodgy work.

- They use high pressure sales tactics
- Claim to have left over material that they can use to provide a cheap cash deal
- The use multiple phone numbers, business names and ABNs

These travelling fake tradies break consumer laws by approaching potential customers uninvited and failing to observe the required ten business day cooling off period.

If you’re approached, send them on their way and contact Katie at Consumer Protection immediately on 08 9021 9438 or [email protected] to report their whereabouts. Information such as descriptions of the offenders, vehicle registration numbers or business names used are also useful.
