Home made cheesecake beats store bought every time. This is a regular in our house. (Sorry I had to re-post from earlier in the week.) The Thermy makes quick work of blitzing a pack of biscuits. ๐Ÿ˜Š Much easier than crushing them with a rolling pin.

I'm looking for a new, low dairy desert to try this week. Not completely dairy free, but not a full bowl of it. ๐Ÿคฃ What are everyone's recommendations?

This month, you have 2 choices when you get your Thermomix TM7. What will you choose? The cutter or blade cover/peeler?

A few FAQ's:
๐Ÿ’šHow much is the TM7?
A brand new Thermomix TM7 costs $2649 outright and includes the motor, bowl/blade/lid combo, the steaming basket and varoma trays, as well as the new spatula.

There are several different payment options available - message me for details on these.

๐Ÿ’šHow much does delivery cost?
FREE! TM7 shipping cost is included in the purchase price, Australia wide.

๐Ÿ’š I am interested in a TM7. How can I learn more?
Contact me to book in an obligation free demonstration where we will cook some recipes together and show you all the functions of the TM7. This gives you the opportunity to use it yourself, getting you familiar with the TM7, so you can make an informed choice, if a Thermomix is right for you.

๐Ÿ’š How can I order a Thermomix?
The TM7 Thermomix can only be ordered through a consultalt. Contact me direct for a buy link and we'll get your TM7 ordered.

๐Ÿ’šWhat is Cookidoo?
Cookidoo is Vorwerk/Thermomix's recipe platform. There are approx 100000 recipes within the platform, so there is always something for everyone, with recipes in many different languages, categories, dietry requirements and some are based around functions specific to the different TM models, meaning you can search for a function (slow cook, cutter, steam etc) and find recipes that include those functions.

Cookidoo also includes ways to save your favourite recipes into collections and has a comprehensive meal planning funtion complete with an editible shopping list to make your grocery shopping easier. It connects seamlessly with an app on your phone, and allows multiple users within the same household to use the account, so everyone can help with the menu.

If you are a new Cookidoo user, your new TM7 will come with a 3 months free trial so that you can test it out. After that, there is an annual subscription, but in my mind, it has been such a useful tool and well worth having.

๐Ÿ’š What is the warranty?
Thermomix automatically has a 2 year warranty for domestic use. There is also an optional Extended Warranty which adds an additional 3 years warranty. This includes a free replacement blade (claimable after 6 months). Details about the warranty can be found here. https://thermomix.com.au/pages/warranty

Not sure if you are ready to give up your cake mixer or hand mixer for your cake decorating?

It's ok, the TM7 can do that too. ๐Ÿ˜Š

There are lots of recipes on Cookidoo and Recipe Community, and all over the internet, but one thing I have learnt about making buttercream in a Thermomix, is always use diced butter, cold from the fridge, and DON'T use hot water in the recipes.

The Thermomix has enough power to handle it, and the butter warms as it mixes so it softens as it goes.

And if you find that your buttercreme gets a bit too soft or feels grainy, pop the whole bowl and mixture in the fridge to cool down a little (dont let it go solid) and then re-mix. Perfect. โ˜บ๏ธ

How many veges do you think you can hide in Mac & Cheese?

Skinny Mixers Mac & Cheese with a twist has a sauce that is made with steamed and pureed pumpkin, zucchini, carrots and sweet potato, and there are so many more you could sneak in there if you are clever.

Give this one a try. Its a delicious creamy, cheesy pasta that is guilt free with all the veges hidden inside.

It utilises multilayer cooking with the steaming basket and varoma trays and different stages of components, meaning you can have a good 6-8 serves of maccaroni. If you plan to set it ad a side with some protein and steamed greens, you could easily stretch it further.

If you are looking for something to do with your kids today, make playdough!

Playdough in the Thermomix is next level. It's smooth and soft and oh so relaxing to mould and create with (hello sensory tools). You'll never regret making playdough in your Thermomix.

There are so many recipes available, but in the Thermy you are milling the salt super fine, so its not gritty, meaning super smooth playdough.

The salt and cream of tartar are cooked/dissolved. in the hot water.

The oil and food colouring are added into the water before adding the flour, and then needed using dough mode, so the colour is perfectly incorporated, without getting messy hands.

And if you are need a lot, you can make a double batch with 1 colour, take out half of the dough, add a second complementary colour and continue mixing, to blend the colours.

Ie: Start with making yellow, take out some dough and add blue dye, then mix until you have green playdough.

2nd batch, start with blue or red, mix together and then take out half of the dough, and add the second colour to get purple.

3rd batch, start with orange, or a little bit of red for pink, take out half of the dough, then add more colour to make a deeper red. All without getting your hands dirty.

This makes playdough fun to make, not a messy hard chore, and you are much more likely to make it more frequently for your kids. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I've always used this recipe, but feel free to use your favourite recipe using the manual and dough modes.

Cooking with High Heat & Open Cooking modes.

I've always made our Nachos mix by hand, on the stove. I like nice little square chunks of extra veges cooked in the sauce and it had just become a habit that doesn't take brain power, even though it was more labour intensive.

Last night I was tired, didn't want to dice my veges and the kids were hungry. I chucked a handful of veges in the TM7, set the blade speed to 5, and pressed play while counting to 5 (I was listening to when the food stopped rattling around the bowl and stopped it before it became quiet/chopped too small.) 3-5 seconds is a good time for vege chopping. I had carrots in there, so used the 5 seconds. The veges were all chopped to the nice half cm size I am used to, and wasn't over chopped -winning!

Little miss decided were were cooking the whole meal in the thermy, so in went the mince, broken up a bit, and we clicked through the settings to choose high heat for 10 mins. This means the mince was cooked and stirred around periodically, but wasn't mushed up. It looked really good at the end of the mode.

Next we added our seasoning: Corriander, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, organo & salt. Then in went a dollop of tomato paste, rinced kidney beans and a can of diced tomato' and gave it a stir through.

We went back to the modes page and picked open cooking and set that to go for 15 minutes. Open Cooking means that you can cook with the lid off, but the blades do not turn during this mode. So it is essentially a saucepan and you can let it simmer and manually stir with a spoon as you go.

At some point, my daughter decided that dinner needed sprinkles so she added those and I had to remove them. ๐Ÿ˜… Kids right..๐Ÿค”

But, we had a delicous home cooked meal to go with our nachos and sour cream, in less than 30 minutes and it only took my 1 bowl, no time consuming chopping and it didn't stick to the bottom of the pan, like it would when cooking stovetop when I walked away and did things with the kids. Definitely doing this meal in the thermy from now on. The high-heat /browning mode is such a great hands off cooking mode.

No recipe, this one is cooked from scratch/memory.
