We need your help, please spread the word!!!! No one deserves this!!!
As most karters would know when you travel interstate to race you pack up all your gear, every bit of it, for the - I need to feel comfort - the just in case but mostly the need to have it all with you to get on the track = gloves, suits, balaclavas, boots, rib protector, neck brace, and most importantly the helmet! This is what Tayla packed up to head to Pink Plate only a few days ago.
Last night Tayla lost ALL of her race gear, a brazen break in and theft of all of her karting gear while we were sleeping in Melbourne waiting to fly out today, she is absolutely shattered!
Anyone who knows the true Tayla, knows, she doesn't run with anything fancy just the standard required stuff. For her, her gear holds so much meaning. It holds the memory of every win, loss and lesson. She doesn't change suits yearly, never asks for anything just because it is the latest thing out. She has had alot of this gear for many years. I have even had to force new racing boots upon her as the old set was being held together with race tape.
We fear the worst, with most of her gear being no good for a theif to sell that it will likely end up in a bin, but just incase can our wider melbourne community keep an eye out for it, anything recovered would simply make her day! She also lost a collection of shirts from various racemeets she has been lucky enough to attend, her kart class shirt from Dave, and her new pink plate balaclava 😭
Along with it went a collection of parts we needed to be able to race her lease kart, including a KA100 exhaust, blue airbox, engine mount, wiring harness and various bits and bobs inside a teal suitcase.
The picture above shows her eith her gear bag on our way to Melbourne just days ago before Pink Plate. Time to head back to Perth and try to get her some gear together asap to keep her in the driving seat.
