Last project of the year had many a twist and turn but the results are well worth the effort. 200Lt's of levelling compound later and we had a workable floor amongst other curly discoveries. It's never dull reworking old renovations.
To say I'm happy with the work put in and results would be an understatement, but you be the judge.

When you need extra storage but the open walls face South and West, you know Melbourne weather is going to drive rain right in there. A bit of tin, timber and a repurposed door from the main shed will take care of that.
Happy to have this one done just before the rains yesterday and you'd never know it wasn't always just as it is.
More to come from this project and it's about to get serious!

It's been a while since I updated here. As I'm sure is well known; it's been a funny old year that has felt a little unsettled.
Still, there are so many "little" wins we can be grateful for, in work and in general.
From custom gates to keep the dogs off the deck to extra storage in a new shed. A deck clean and LaserLite upgrade for an all weather outdoor area. A "my guy disappeared" kitchenette. Sinks, appreciating the grain of a freshly prepped timber ready for new pantry shelves, or just enjoying the turn of the seasons.
These are a few pictures to celebrate the rag tag way life can look.

Enjoy, there's more to come.

P.S. To whoever did do the tiling in the New York Subway systems. I both admire your perseverance and am humbled by your insanity 😉

Being raised on a dairy farm is where I learnt a lot of my skills and developed a passion for building and working with my hands. That said, this latest build was like a trip down memory lane. No cheap materials or cut corners here, this shelter will be standing strong long after I've gone.

Another project down as we enjoy this warm spell. So many people ask how I work in the heat. "Well, I'd rather work under these beautiful skies than in the cold and rain", but, don't forget your sunscreen and hat good people.
If you own a pool and would like a little more privacy while adding to your garden vista, some well placed decorative screening could be for you.

Even a simple wing fence done in pickets just feels so clean. Could be just me, but I do love that look.
