A quick break from master plans, meetings and project deadlines to celebrate one of our directors today 🎉🎂 Happy (belated) Birthday to Tarah. All our birthday celebrations seem to be belated lately!!

Master planning is about more than planning for today - it’s about creating a framework that allows a school to grow thoughtfully over time.

At St Clare’s, the evolving master plan continues to respond to enrolment growth while maintaining a strong focus on community, flexibility and long-term value. The latest stage builds on the established vision for the campus, delivering learning environments that meet immediate needs while also adapting alongside the school into the future.

A key part of the strategy has been designing spaces that can serve different purposes over time. Facilities initially supporting administration, resource and library functions have been planned to transition seamlessly into future learning spaces as the school community grows.

Through careful master planning, the project strengthens the school’s connection to community, place and future-focused learning.

Sarina staff accommodation is now under construction, supporting the future Special Care Unit and administration extension to the aged care facility, currently out for tender. It’s great to see progress on site, even with the recent weather.

Projects like this are a reminder that good care environments rely on more than just buildings for the residents, they also depend on well-considered spaces for the people who support them every day.

More photos to come as the build takes shape.

Last week, Tarah joined a discussion panel at UQ with students as part of a professional practice course - and it was a strong reminder of how valuable it is for students to hear directly from industry.

There’s a noticeable shift when theory meets real-world perspective. This was clear in the level of engagement, with conversations continuing well beyond the scheduled session.

Bringing together client, contractor, and architect viewpoints added a practical layer to discussions around procurement. While students explore methods such as Traditional, Design & Construct, and Early Contractor involvement through the lens of time, cost, and quality, hearing how these play out in practice offers a deeper understanding.

It also reinforces an important point: there’s no single “right” procurement method - only what’s most appropriate for a given project.

It was a pleasure to contribute to such an engaged session and support students as they begin to navigate the realities of practice.

Last week, Tarah and Yuki had the pleasure of attending the launch of Lisa Daunt’s new book “Constructing Faith in the Antipodes” - a beautiful celebration of architecture, place, and legacy across Brisbane and Queensland.

For us, it was particularly meaningful to see the work of Cullen so prominently featured. As one of the founding directors whose work helped shape what is now Enrich Architecture, his influence is still very much part of who we are today.

Back in the studio, the book has already been making its way around the office. It’s sparked great conversations, and a few ‘we know that one!’ moments, as we recognised buildings that remain part of our architectural landscape today. There’s something powerful about seeing projects that have stood the test of time, continuing to serve their communities decades on.

It has also become a wonderful way to share our story with newer members of the team, connecting past and present through the built work itself.

Congratulations to Lisa on such a thoughtful and beautifully curated piece of architectural history - and one we’re proud to have a small connection to.

Earlier this year, during the January works period, we shared a first look at the new Prep classrooms at St Thomas, still quiet, with trades putting the finishing touches in place.

Last week, Tarah returned for their blessing and official opening. The same rooms were now filled with students, staff and families full of energy and possibility.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

The drawings, coordination and tight holiday construction window all matter. But what matters most is seeing a space embraced by its community. Hearing the school reflect on its history and its hopes for the future was incredibly moving.

Design in education is never just about buildings. It’s about continuity, legacy, and creating places where young people feel welcomed, supported and ready to grow.

So wonderful to see these classrooms already being lived in.

It was a privilege to attend the blessing and opening of the new Prep classrooms at St Thomas. Seeing the spaces come to life – filled with students, staff and the wider school community – was incredibly special.

Congratulations to the St Thomas team on a wonderful start to 2026 and a meaningful celebration of new beginnings.

There’s something powerful about seeing a project begin to rise from the landscape, especially when it’s designed around the people who will call it home.

Construction is now well underway on Stage 1 of a residential aged facility in Noosa, with work progressing steadily on site. After months of briefing, consultation and detailed design, it’s rewarding to see the foundations taking shape and the building begin to emerge from its bushland setting.

From the outset, this project has been grounded in its environment, and in the experience of its future residents. The forms, materials and orientation have been carefully considered to sit comfortably within the landscape while supporting comfort, connection and everyday wellbeing. Natural light, climate responsiveness and a strong relationship to the outdoors are central to the design.

Seeing that intent translate from drawings into built form is a reminder of why early thinking matters, because ultimately, it’s about creating places where people feel at home.

We look forward to sharing more as the structure continues to take shape in the months ahead.

2025 Brand Reflection | Looking back to move forward

As we step into a new year, we’ve been reflecting on who we are as a practice - and whether we’re still living up to what we set out to do when Enrich Architecture evolved six years ago. One thing has stood out clearly: when design is grounded in strong, human principles - connection to the outdoors, clear and intuitive movement, dignity, and wellbeing - the results feel better. Calmer. More considered. Often, it’s the small decisions that make the biggest difference.

We’re also reminded that great architecture isn’t just about the finished building. It’s about the ideas, the process, and the experience along the way - and how openly we share the thinking behind our work. When we explain the why, trust grows and conversations deepen. Looking ahead to the year ahead, we’re excited to keep refining how we tell our story - sharing more of the people, care, and thinking behind every project.

Thank you to our team, clients, and collaborators for being part of the journey.
